Judge Dismisses Lawsuit by Biden Official Against Fox News

Fox News is having a pretty good week on the legal front.

Earlier this week, Hunter Biden dropped his lawsuit over a series that was aired on Fox Nation, the streaming service associated with Fox News.

Now, Nina Jankowicz, the former head of the now-defunct Department of Homeland Security (DHS) disinformation board, had her case dismissed by a judge.

Case Dismissed

Jankowicz was suing the network for allegedly defaming her on several different instances.

She claimed those instances led to her being attacked online and numerous threats of violence against her.

Federal Judge Colm F. Connolly disagreed, dismissing the case outright, and blasting Jankowicz in the process.

In the ruling, Judge Connolly, according to Newsday stated, “The lawsuit from Nina Jankowicz alleged that Fox had defamed her on numerous occasions, leading to waves of online attacks and threats of violence after the formation of the Disinformation Governance Board, where she served as a director.

“In May of 2022, just weeks after its launch, the Department of Homeland Security paused the board’s work and accepted Jankowicz’s resignation.

“The board was officially dissolved and its charter rescinded in August of that same year.”

The report continued, “In rejecting Jankowicz’s claims, the judge said that 36 of the 37 statements made on Fox News programs were about the disinformation board and not Jankowicz.

“The judge ruled that the remaining statement — which was also a reference to the board and not Jankowicz, despite showing an image of her as it was said — was not disinformation because it was a factual statement that matched the wording in the board’s own charter describing its purpose.”

That is two big wins for Fox News in less than a week, so I am sure Fox News management is breathing a little easier right now after taking some serious hits on the legal front due to comments made by Tucker Carlson.

Jankowicz has not publicly commented about the dismissal of the suit as of this report.
