Firefighters Union Boos Vance During Speech

Senator JD Vance (R-OH) got a bit of a rude welcome from the Firefighters Union on Thursday.

As Vance was taking the stage, there was some applause, but the crowd that had so enthusiastically greeted Governor Tim Walz was also booing Vance.

To his credit, he took it in stride and still delivered his speech.

Both Vance and Walz appeared at the International Association of Fire Fighters Convention to advocate for the union's support.

Walz spoke on Wednesday, and for the most part, the crowd loved him.

Then came the programmed response from a union when a Republican took the stage….

Vance did not back down, telling the union members, "In 2019, this union endorsed a Democrat for president with high hopes. But sadly, I believe you've been let down.

"And we have to be honest, my friends, the hard truth is that Kamala Harris is the latest in a long line of Democrats who come by every few years asking unions for money and promising you the moon, but often failing to deliver. After supporting Democrats for so long in this union, what has it gotten you?

"Over the past 70 years, union membership in this country -- and this is not a good thing -- has declined.

"The influence of unions has declined, and the wages of working people, union and non-union alike have not kept up with the pace of inflation over the last three and a half years.

"So I want to ask you a question that Donald Trump asked America in 2016. What the hell do you have to lose?"

Vance concluded, "We're going to defend your right to free speech, including your right to speak out about unconstitutional COVID vaccine mandates imposed by the current administration.

"We're going to abolish every single mandate, and we're going to fight to rehire every firefighter who was wrongly terminated with all the back pay that they deserve."

I really don’t get it… Biden and Harris were the ones who were willing to toss first responders to the curb if they refused to take the vaccine, so why are they so loyal to Democrats?

This is all about money… plain and simple.

The Biden administration gave the unions billions to bolster their pension funds after years of corruption and mismanagement drained their pensions.

What happens in return? Union bosses write checks for hundreds of millions of dollars to support Democrats, taking the money from one pocket to the next.

Union members get screwed, yet they seem ignorant of this little game.

I have no problem with a union if it is doing its job, but sadly, most of them are charging ridiculous member fees, overpaying leadership, and are as corrupt as the mafia.

And what happens time and again… Democrats take taxpayer money and bail out their pension funds after they are mismanaged by these crooks who run the unions.

And that, my friends, is why unions boo Republicans and continue to support Democrats.

You want to break corrupt unions? Just keep Republicans in office for a decade and watch them all go broke because they are not getting taxpayer bailout money.
