Israel wins Rafah battle, despite Harris's attempt to stop it from doing so

Much to the dismay of Vice President Kamala Harris, Israel has declared that it has succeeded against Hamas in the battle of Rafah.

The reason this is to the dismay of Harris is because the vice president actually tried to prevent Israel from fighting this battle. Israel, however, simply ignored Harris, and now, several months later, it is declaring victory.

According to the Jewish News Syndicate (JNS), the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) declared victory in the battle of Rafah on Thursday.

But, before we get to that, we will quickly recall how Harris attempted to stop Israel from going into Rafah.

Don't do it, or else...

Harris actually tried to prevent Israel from fighting Hamas in Rafah by way of a threat. Harris, back in March 2024, said that there may be "consequences" for Israel if it defied the Biden-Harris administration by attacking Hamas in Rafah.

At the time, ABC News reported:

In a wide-ranging new interview with ABC News, Vice President Kamala Harris suggested there could be "consequences" for Israel if it moves ahead with a planned invasion of Rafah in its pursuit of Hamas fighters.

The left-wing media outlet went on to quote Harris as saying, "We have been clear in multiple conversations and in every way that any major military operation in Rafah would be a huge mistake. Let me tell you something: I have studied the maps. There's nowhere for those folks to go."

At one point in the interview, Harris was asked point-blank whether there would be "consequences" for Israel if it attacks Hamas in Rafah.

Harris said, "I am ruling out nothing."

It's just too important

Israel, perhaps calling Harris's bluff, decided to attack Rafah anyway. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu explained that eliminating the remainder of Hamas was too important.

Breitbart News reports:

After delaying from February to May, in the face of opposition from Harris and President Joe Biden, Netanyahu proceeded with battle plans, and IDF troops seized the Philadelphi Corridor along the Gaza-Egypt border before turning toward the rest of Rafah, fighting neighborhood by neighborhood, street to street, and house to house.

And, now, the IDF is declaring victory.

The IDF wrote, "During these operations, the troops have dismantled the Rafah brigade of the Hamas terrorist organization."

The question now is whether the Biden-Harris administration will follow through with these "consequences" for Israel, and, if so, what would these consequences look like. This remains to be seen.
