Harris Interview with Charlamagne Tha God Not So Easy

Before sitting down with Fox News, Harris had not had a single hostile media interview.

While I could not call her interview with Charlamagne Tha God contentious, it was hardly the walkover Harris had hoped it would be.

No Easy Day

The interview had some highs and lows for Harris, but the lows really blew up online. Charlamagne agreed with Harris that Trump would install a fascist administration, which is ridiculous, but that is a talking point Democrats push and the media happily oblige.

However, this was not all strawberries and whipped cream for Harris.

Breaking the Filibuster

For instance, when a called asked Harris about reparations, Harris offered up one of her patented word-salad speeches. She was called out for it, then Charlamagne actually accused her of filibustering the caller.

They then moved on to immigration, which is where Charlamagne landed a direct hit on Harris.

Right amid another Harris rant, Charlamagne chimed in, “But doesn’t the Biden administration have to take some blame for the border, though? A lot of the blame — because, I mean, the first three years y’all did get a lot of things wrong with the border.”

Harris has also had a real problem coming off a bit snooty in her interviews, and she did herself no favors here. When Charlamagne asked her about having stiff and rehearsed answers, always echoing talking points, Harris responded, “There are certain things that must be repeated to ensure that I have everyone know what I stand for and the issues that I think are at stake in this election. And so it requires repetition.” Call me crazy, but that really sounds like she is talking down to her audience.

Harris by the Numbers

Harris cannot afford these missteps because she has lost her momentum in the polls, and things are starting to swing in Trump’s favor.

When Harris was first gifted the nomination, she had nearly a four-point lead nationally and was well ahead of Trump in all battleground states. That national lead is now down to about 2.5%, and most battleground states are a toss-up.

For Harris to win this election, she more or less must take the Blue Wall states of Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

As it stands now, Michigan is a toss-up, she is leading Pennsylvania, and Trump holds a small lead in Wisconsin, a state in which he was trailing by four points just a few weeks ago.

I still believe North Carolina is the key for Trump and gives him his best path to 270. If Trump wins North Carolina and steals Wisconsin, he only needs to win Georgia. If he does not get Wisconsin, he would merely need to split Michigan and Pennsylvania while also splitting Arizona and Nevada. If Trump loses North Carolina, he needs to take at least one Blue Wall state while also taking Georgia, Arizona, and Nevada, which is still very doable. This is why the Harris campaign is panicking right now. Trump has multiple paths…, while Harris has one.
