Michelle Obama Now Joining Campaign Trail for Kamala Harris

Former First Lady Michelle Obama would sit this race out; at least, that is what we were led to believe.

Now, however, reports are surfacing that Michelle will campaign hard for Harris down the final stretch.

Michelle Nowhere to be Seen

Kamala Harris is not polling very well, and Democrats are in panic mode that she could lose this election to Donald Trump. This would be a disaster of monumental proportions for Democrats when you consider the games they have played with this nomination.

Harris recently had Bill Clinton and Barack Obama join her campaign, but the only sighting of Michelle Obama thus far had been at the DNC. According to reports, this was the plan, as Michelle was hoping to stay off the campaign trail, which, of course, led to rumors that Michelle Obama did not really approve of Harris.

Michelle is Back

With Harris underperforming in the polls, especially among black voters, Harris is now calling in one more big dog: Michelle Obama.

Michelle will reportedly launch her involvement at a “When We All Vote” event on October 29. The rally will be held in Atlanta, GA, a state where Harris is now down by 1.8% in the averages of all polls, trailing Trump by four points in the latest Quinnipiac University poll, and two points in the latest InsiderAdvantage poll.

Michelle's presence should give Harris a boost, but I have to seriously consider if it will be too late to really help her. The appearance is only a week out from the election, and I have to wonder how much the needle can be moved in such a short span, especially since early voting has already started in many states.

Kamala by the Numbers

Harris’ lead in the national average of all polls is now down to 2.4%. She has slowly but surely been trickling back to Trump, but at this point, she should still win the popular vote. However, as you all know, this election is about the Electoral College, which is about as tight as it gets. In Arizona, Trump holds a solid lead of at least two points in the most recent polls. In Nevada, Trump and Harris are about even. Trump’s goal is to split these two states.

Trump’s easiest path to victory would be winning Georgia and North Carolina. In the most recent polling, Trump is leading Harris by at least two points, with a monster six-point lead in the latest Quinnipiac poll. Trump has a lead in every poll in North Carolina except that Quinnipiac poll, so this state could still be up for grabs.

Harris's easiest path in the Blue Wall States would be a clean sweep of Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Michigan is still up for grabs, as these two continue swapping polling leads. It is the same situation in Pennsylvania, with a few outlier polls showing Harris ahead. I thought Trump was dead in Wisconsin at one point, but he has come roaring back and is now tied with Harris in the state. Bottom line… anyone who tells you they have a big lead in any of these states is lying. This race continues to be a toss-up, but Trump does seem to have the momentum right now.
