MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough Says Racism and Misogyny Responsible for Harris Loss
Voters have clearly not responded well to being shamed for not wanting to support Kamala Harris.
That point has clearly not sunk in with pundits, which would include MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough, who went so far as to say racism and misogyny are why Trump was elected.
Morning Joe Meltdown
With the outright hatred for Donald Trump in this country, had the left presented a decent female candidate of any color and had a positive message, I think they would have won this election.
Instead, they handpicked Kamala Harris after forcing Biden out of the election. Keep in mind, the 2020 primary proved to the Democrat Party that Harris was not America’s favorite, but they figured the short cycle would benefit her, and they were wrong.
Barack Obama proceeded to shame black men into voting for Harris, and the message was rejected. The overall doomsayer message was also rejected, but Joe Scarborough of MSNBC’s Morning Joe continued to pour it on.
Scarborough stated, “Democrats need to be mature, and they need to be honest. And they need to say, ‘Yes, there is misogyny, but it’s not just misogyny from white men.’ It’s misogyny from Hispanic men, it’s misogyny from black men — things we’ve all been talking about — who do not want a woman leading them.”
First, we have representation in this country, not leaders. Second, it was pretty clear that if Michelle Obama were the candidate, she would have run away with this election, so there goes that argument.
Not the Only One
On Wednesday morning, after the results were confirmed that Trump had secured enough votes to win the election, the ridiculousness and excuses continued. The ladies on “The View” probably need some therapy. Some anchors were literally crying on mainstream media outlets.
The Atlantic also took a shot at Trump’s supporters before the election with an article headlined “Trump’s Followers Are Living in a Dark Fantasy.” The piece went on to document Trump’s lies, acting as though Joe Biden and Kamala Harris only utter the truth when virtually every political ad that Harris put out promoted a debunked lie and the lies told by both of them are now well-documented.
The Country is Ready
If you ask me for my opinion (and since you are here reading my column every day, I will make the reach that you want to hear it), the country is dying to have a woman president, but we also want the right one.
In 2020, had Tulsi Gabbard won the nomination on the Democrat side of the aisle, I think she would have won two terms and been very popular because she is a true moderate. Now that she has joined the Republican Party, I expect her to have a prominent role in Trump’s administration and possibly surface as a leading candidate in 2028.
One of my favorite tickets during this primary was DeSantis-Noem, which I think would have installed Noem as the first female president in 2032 (this was before she bragged about putting down a dog).
The left does have some women that I believe would do very well, most notably Michelle Obama, but she has made it clear she enjoys her posh life and has no desire to serve in the White House again, a building she has made quite clear she despises.
So, no, Joe, this is not about being sexist, racist, or misogynist, or any other “ist” word that you would like to use. It’s about putting the right person in there, and Kamala Harris was clearly not the right person, so stop trying to shame voters or make excuses for her loss.
