REPORT: Biden gets lectured by President Xi
Joe Biden is doing his farewell tour and it is apparently not going very well.
Reports broke this week that during his final talks with Chinese President Xi, Xi lectured Biden on a red line that will not be crossed.
No Respect
Say what you want about Donald Trump, but when he was in office, he was the clear Alpha in the room, and that is clearly not the case with Joe Biden.
The Chinese have been disrespecting the United States ever since Joe Biden took over the Oval Office.
Right after Biden took office, Secretary Blinken met with the Chinese and was embarrassed on the global stage. The meeting took place in Alaska, and the Chinese reacted to the first day of meetings, accusing Blinken and his staff of being “condescending” and “intent on grandstanding.”
The United States returned the criticism, claiming, “They made that clear by promptly violating protocol; we had agreed to short (two-minute) opening statements by each principal.
“The United States delegation came to Anchorage committed to laying out the principles, interests, and values that animate our engagement with Beijing. We have continued on with our planned presentation, knowing that exaggerated diplomatic presentations often are aimed at a domestic audience.”
China and Russia
With Russia’s war against Ukraine, China has stepped in to help Russia with a massive amount of equipment sales to help its war effort.
According to reports, “In 2023 about 90% of Russia’s microelectronics came from China, which Russia has used to make missiles, tanks and aircraft.
“Nearly 70% of Russia’s approximately $900 million in machine tool imports in the last quarter of 2023 came from China.”
Joe Biden Warned
Joe Biden and President Xi met this weekend in Lima, Peru, and reports stated that the meeting did not exactly in Biden’s favor.
President Xi reportedly drew a red line in the sand and told Biden it was not to be crossed.
According to the reports, the biggest issue on the table was human rights violations by China, and Xi was not even going to entertain the mentioning of this in regard to any negotiations between the two countries on any issue.
Xi may have meant that message to go to Trump as well, but I will go out on a limb and say there is no way Xi would talk to Trump this way. I think this was Xi’s last flex before the new sheriff arrives in DC.
