Democrats Now Claiming GOP Rigged the System to Win Election
When Donald Trump made claims that the only way he would lose the 2020 election was if it was rigged, and he continued those claims after the election, Democrats and the media hit him with everything they had.
Now that Democrats got their clocks cleaned in the 2024 election, we are seeing the same narrative being pitched by the left, including at least one Democrat Senator claiming that the GOP rigged the system to win this election
Trump Warns Against Election Rigging
As we headed into the 2020 election, Trump’s polling numbers were taking a massive hit due to COVID, and Trump set the stage, stating, “The only way we’re going to lose this election is if this election is rigged.”
Many state election laws were changed not by state legislators, but by local officials and judges, giving more access than ever to ballots, which, of course, raised the issue of election integrity.
When Trump lost the election, the Stop the Steal rally was organized, and, well, we all know what happened from that point forward, with the media and Democrats berating Trump on a regular basis as an election denier.
Shoe on the Other Foot
With Donald Trump having defeated the chosen one, Kamala Harris, now it is the left that is starting to claim that the election was rigged.
Max Read, a senior research manager for elections at the Institute for Strategic Dialogue, offered the reason this is happening as well as why he believed it happened when Trump lost the 2020 election.
Read stated, “People look for easy answers in times of crisis, and for those who view this election result as a crisis for themselves or just a shock, it’s somewhat natural to look for something to explain that away and to explain why your expectations weren’t met.”
He added, “This may be just a passing moment that does not lead to lasting belief in election denial narratives on the left, or it may have more traction. It’s a ‘wait and see’ on that front.”
Dem Senator Says GOP ‘Rigged the System’
Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) has been in office since 2007, but he was just booted out of office, convincingly, I might add, by Trump-backed Bernie Moreno.
Moreno won the election 50.2% to 46.6%, which led to Brown claiming the GOP had “rigged the system.” He believes the attack ads on transgender issues were part of this, stating, “They lie about it and they put — in this case, they — they spent $40 million on 8 different ads on that issue.
“They weren’t talking about how to make Ohio a better state. They’re not doing their job on education. They’re not doing their job on health care. They’re not doing their job on creating jobs.”
Living in Texas, I did not see a single truthful ad by Democrats, including Kamala Harris, so this is just sour grapes by a Democrat who got it handed to him in an election he never thought he would lose. As a matter of fact, I have often stated that I believe we need an election commission to approve all political ads to make sure they are 100% factual before being published, as I am sick and tired of the blatant lies and unproven statements regularly used, and Democrat ads were full of them this time around.
We can go back to the Bush presidency to see Democrats as election deniers, yet the media always seems to give them a pass. Believe me, virtually every claim that Trump made in 2020 was all out of the Democrat playbook from past elections. And now that Democrats have lost, they are the ones making the claims again.
