Supreme Court Ruling Could Have Major Impact on Trump Immigration Policies
Donald Trump is going to have a very aggressive immigration policy for his administration.
That aggression may have just been given the green light based on a ruling by the Supreme Court.
The Trump Resistance
Democrats were very aggressive in taking on the Trump administration the first time around.
For instance, an April 2019 report in the Washington Post had already documented 70 times that the Trump administration was taken to court, with a significant number of those cases being immigration suits of some sort.
A rough breakdown of the top suits were environmental (19), immigration (14), and health care (12). There were also another 11 cases related to immigration. These cases were for sanctuary cities and DACA.
We expect the same thing this time around unless Democrats realize they need to start taking immigration seriously.
Supreme Court Ruling
In Bourfa v. Mayorkas, the question at hand is whether all immigration visa reviews need to go through the courts or whether the Department of Homeland Security has some status to review the cases and give a ruling without it being reviewed by the courts.
According to the unanimous Supreme Court ruling, the answer is that DHS has that authority.
This particular case involved an immigrant who was involved in a sham marriage and then wanted to get married again.
Typically, such an event would mean permanent deportation with no chance of being admitted back to the United States. This would be a direct deportation decision by the DHS, which was challenged in this case.
Big Impact for Trump
This ruling is going to be a very big deal for the Trump administration, which plans on going after criminal illegals first, and then work from there.
Incoming Border Czar Tom Homan has been adamant that he has every intention of going into sanctuary cities to round these migrants up and send them back over the border.
South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem has been selected as Trump’s DHS boss, and she will be working hand-in-hand with Homan on this front, so this ruling will really help them avoid court battles with Democrats in regard to deportation.
This will allow Trump to be even more aggressive, which is good news to those of us who want to see all of Biden’s illegal shipped back home.
