Top Aide for Mayor Adams Expected to be Indicted
One could arguably say that we have never seen an administration filled with more corrupt officials than that of New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
Yet again, there are reports that another top aide will be indicted.
When It Rains It Pours
Ingrid Lewis-Martin, a former top City Hall official and top consigliere of Mayor Eric Adams, has already resigned her post, and now we seemingly know why.
Reports broke over the weekend that Lewis-Martin was likely to be indicted.
She has been front and center throughout the indictments that have been centered around this administration, but there is very little information about her possible indictment.
According to reports, that indictment could come down sometime this week.
Nothing Illegal
Like everyone else who has been indicted in Adams’ administration, Lewis-Martin says she did nothing wrong.
Her attorney, Arther Aidala, stated, “She never did anything more than her job for anything more than her salary. “There were so many opportunities, if somebody wanted to do something criminal, to do so, and Ingrid never did that, never thought about doing that. And no one would even offer it because they know that’s not who Ingrid Lewis-Martin is.”
Lewis-Martin very briefly addressed the media, stating, “I’m here falsely accused of — something. I don’t know exactly what it is. But I know that I was told that it’s something that’s illegal. And I have never done anything illegal in my capacity in government.
“During my tenure I have never taken any gifts, money, anything! I have not made any arrangements in advance to take any gifts or money or to have any gifts or money given to a family member or a friend in order for me to do my job.”
Trump Floats Pardon
When Donald Trump was asked about the problems of Mayor Adams, who reportedly met with Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, he said he would consider a pardon of Adams if he winds up being convicted.
Adams, like everyone else, says he did nothing wrong, and he had nothing at all to do with the illegal campaign contributions his campaign received. After the news broke, Adams stated, "As New Yorkers know, I do not sit back and complain about hurdles, I get off those hurdles whenever people tell me what I can't do, I continue to show that I can do.
"And I've got that can do energy and spirit and I have enough money to put on a good campaign and get my message out and continue to lead in this area."
I will tell you guys right now, if Adams is found guilty and Trump does pardon him, I am going to go nuclear. I am sick and tired of seeing corrupt politicians get away with their crimes simply because they know people. This is just that elite inner circle taking care of their own.
