REPORT: Russians Burning Off the Faces of Dead North Koreans Killed in Ukraine War
As if we have not seen enough atrocities in the Russia-Ukraine war, Russia has outdone itself.
According to new reports, nearly 100 North Korean soldiers were killed in combat, with Russia burning off the faces of the dead so they could not be identified.
North Korea Steps In
With this war having gone on so long, it was only a matter of time before North Korea stepped in to help Russia bolster its relationship with its ally.
This was a huge opportunity for North Korea to once again start to receive economic assistance from Russia, something it has not enjoyed for more than three decades.
By lending troops and supplies to Russia, Kim Jong-un was likely hoping that he would find himself in Putin’s good favor and the financial faucet would be turned back on.
From the rest of the world’s perspective, this is a dangerous alliance that could put South Korea at risk of a North Korean invasion.
Didn’t Work Out
When the reports surfaced last month that North Korea was sending in troops, it changed everything in terms of the commitment to Ukraine.
However, North Korean soldiers have not fared very well, with 100 of them reportedly killed and another 1,000 wounded in action (North Korea has committed about 10,000 troops and support equipment in recent months).
The soldiers have reportedly held back Russian efforts because of the lack of understanding of more modern military equipment, such as drone warfare.
Not only that, but there is also a significant language barrier, which recently led to a huge disaster for both sides.
No Communication
On Saturday, eight Russian troops were killed in a friendly fire incident with the North Koreans.
Videos also started to surface of dead North Korean soldiers, with Russia troops burning off their faces so they could not be identified by the cameras.
When the reports surfaced, Ukrainian President Zelensky stated, “Russia is not only involving North Korean soldiers in assaults against Ukrainian positions, but also trying to hide the losses of these people. The Russians are also trying to literally burn the faces of the killed North Korean soldiers.”
This, to me, is priority one for Trump to address when he takes office, and President Putin has already expressed interest in sitting down with Trump. With Biden having approved long-distance strikes by Ukraine, and North Korea now with boots on the ground, we are closer than ever to WWIII, so this situation is far direr than the Israel-Hamas War in terms of impacting our country.
