Fetterman Call Out Dems Hoping Trump Fails

Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) is proving to be an absolute nightmare for Democrats.

To that point, he is now calling out his fellow Democrats who openly hope that Trump fails during his presidency.

Fetterman, I have to admit, is not what I expected when he ran for office. He appeared to be an uber-progressive who wanted to fight Republicans every step of the way.

Since taking office, he has actually been one of the more receptive Democrats in the Senate in terms of working with the GOP.

To that point, he just called out his fellow Democrats, hoping that Donald Trump would fail as president. He stated, "I'm not rooting against him. If you're rooting against the president, you are rooting against the nation. And and I'm not ever going to be where I want a president to fail. So, country first. I know that's become maybe like a cliche, but it happens to be true."

I have to agree with this, as I never want any administration to fail because when the administration fails, we pay the price, as we see with Biden in office now.

Open Mind

To my point about Fetterman having an open mind, he proved that again when he openly supported some of Donald Trump’s nominees. While most Democrats are putting up a stink about every name mentioned, Fetterman is not willing to block anyone for the sake of blocking them.

He has already openly stated his support for Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) as Ambassador to the United Nations, but he has also expressed a willingness to support some of Trump’s more controversial nominees, such as Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense.

He said, “Well, we’re going to learn more. We’re going to learn more. And that, that, that hearing, and there’s going to be an FBI background and that. But, you know, my commitment, and I think I’m doing the job, is I’m going to sit down and have a conversation.

“And the president picked these people. Not going to be my first choice, second choice, third choice, but that’s democracy. And to me, it would be distressing if, if he is confirmed, if the Democrats are going to turn our back collectively to the leader of the Defense. I mean, that’s astonishing, and that’s dangerous.”

First Signs

Fetterman first started showing the people of this country that he was not beholden to a party when Hamas invaded Israel last year.

While a significant contingent of the Democrat Party was telling Israel to demand a cease-fire and calling them war criminals, Fetterman was walking around DC holding an Israeli flag and taunting pro-Palestine protesters.

At the time, Fetterman stated, “At any point, Hamas could have ended this burgeoning tragedy to surrender and release every hostage… Hamas instigated and owns this humanitarian catastrophe.”

Do not confuse my comments about Fetterman as support of him as a Senator, as I would love to see the GOP flip this seat in the next election. But what I am saying is that Fetterman appears to be one of the more reasonable Dems in the Senate, someone willing to talk to and work with the other side and sensible legislation. And that is all we can really ask from the other side.
