Senator Lindsey Graham says Senate needs to investigate Trump decision

Senator Lindsey Graham may be a Republican, but that doesn't mean he thinks Donald Trump shouldn't be subject to checks and balances.

In fact, Lindsey Graham has been very outspoken in his disagreement over some of Donald Trump's recent decisions.

According to TheHill.com, Graham recently said that "the Senate needs to investigate President Trump’s decision to end his former national security adviser John Bolton’s personal security protection."

Bolton had been under Secret Service protection because of a threat on his life from Iran. However, Bolton also clashed with Donald Trump at the end of Donald's first term, and that usually doesn't end well for Trump's enemies.

Trump's decision

Donald Trump campaigned hard on the idea that he would drain the swamp. He was going to lower federal spending, cut unnecessary positions, and stop allowing some federal employees to enjoy benefits they shouldn't be receiving.

Bolton, a vocal Trump critic, was one of those who recently had his lifestyle impacted by Trump trimming the fat.

Trump decided to end Secret Service protection for his former national security advisor John Bolton, despite Bolton receiving death threats from Iran over his "hawkish" stance toward the country's leadership.

"I am disappointed but not surprised that President Trump has decided to terminate the protection previously provided by the United States Secret Service," Bolton said about the decision.

Trump's argument was that America can't be paying for every federal employee to have security protection for the rest of their lives.

"I think there was enough time. We take a job, you take a job, you want to do a job, we’re not going to have security on people for the rest of their lives," Trump said. "Why should we?"

Lindsey Graham does NOT agree

While some people may understand where Donald Trump is coming from on this issue, Lindsey Graham is NOT one of them.

Graham said that Donald Trump had left John Bolton "hanging" after Bolton was brave enough to confront America's enemies.

"Whether you like Bolton or anybody else, we need to make sure that if you serve in our government and you take a foreign power at the request of the administration, that we do not leave you hanging," Graham recently explained on CNN. "The Senate needs to look at what happened and sit down and figure out what’s the best way forward."

"I don’t want to leave them hanging. It makes it hard to recruit people in the future," Graham added.

Do you agree with Donald Trump or Lindsey Graham on this issue?
