Washington Post claims RFK Jr. is 'not qualified' to lead Department of Health and Human Services

Many Americans are excited about the idea of RFK Jr. Making America Healthy Again as the head of America's Department of Health and Human Services.

The editorial board over at the Washington Post is NOT included in that group.

Breitbart.com reports the Washington Post editorial board recently launched a diatribe against Robert F. Kennedy Jr., arguing that Trump's pick has a "poor sense of ethics makes him unfit to lead the Department of Health and Human Services."

The Washington Post is owned by billionaire Jeff Bezos, who also owns Amazon.

The accusations

The article is titled "More reason to oppose RFK Jr.’s nomination," followed by the subline "His poor sense of ethics makes him unfit to lead the Department of Health and Human Services."

It's a stark contrast to how many MAGA fans feel about RFK Jr., as RFK's desire to do what's right for America's future has been described as one of the biggest strengths of Trump's pick.

In defense of their argument that RFK Jr. is "not qualified" to lead America's chief health department, the Washington Post cited RFK Jr.'s "years-long unscientific campaign against essential vaccines" and a "conflict of interest."

The "conflict" they're referring to is the idea that RFK Jr. "will retain his financial stake in a lawsuit filed by the law firm Wisner Baum, where he formerly served as a consultant, against Gardasil vaccine manufacturer Merck."

RFK Jr. recently disclosed his association with the law firm in filings with the Office of Government Ethics, according to NPR.

Breitbart seems to think the Washington Post editorial board was blowing this affiliation out of proportion. Per Breitbart:

However, Kennedy will only be paid if his ex-firm wins, and only for cases that aren’t against the U.S. or in which the U.S. isn’t a party and doesn’t have “a direct or substantial interest,” according to the filings.

"Pursuant to the referral agreement, I am entitled to receive 10% of fees awarded in contingency fee cases referred to the firm," Kennedy wrote in his ethics agreement. "I am not trying these cases, I am not an attorney of record for the cases, and I will not provide representational services in connection with the cases during my appointment to the position of Secretary."

Kennedy addresses critics

For everyone concerned that RFK Jr. is "anti-vax," that's simply not true. RFK Jr. recently addressed his critics who were attacking him over his skepticism of certain vaccines.

RFK Jr. said that he isn't "anti-vax," he's simply "pro-safety," and likes to know what Americans are being forced to put into their bodies. He added that he has "often disturbed the status quo by asking uncomfortable questions."

Are you comfortable with the idea of RFK Jr. trying to Make America Healthy Again, or do you agree with the Washington Post's assessment that he is "not qualified?"
