GOP-led House passes bill that prevents presidents from banning oil and gas drilling

Not only is President Donald Trump making huge moves to get America back on track, but the Republican-led House of Representatives is also pulling its weight -- and looking far down the road.

According to Fox News, the House just passed a bill that would prevent future presidents from banning oil and gas drilling without full congressional approval. 

The move was obviously meant to prevent future Democratic presidents from making such executive decisions, like Barack Obama and Joe Biden both did during the start of their terms in the White House.

The bill is called the "Protecting American Energy Production Act" and received unanimous support from House Republicans, with 118 Democrats voting against it.

What happened?

The idea for the bill was inspired by what President Joe Biden did during his first days in office, which included massive oil and gas drilling bans across hundreds of millions of acres of U.S. land.

Trump campaigned on getting America back to the energy independent state that it was under his first term in office, and the House is helping make that happen.

Fox News noted:

Rep. August Pfluger, R-Texas, the Republican who introduced the bill, said concerns over potential fracking bans during the Biden administration was what prompted the legislation.

When President Biden took office, his administration took a 'whole of government' approach to wage war on American energy production, pandering to woke environmental extremists and crippling this thriving industry," Pfluger said in a statement.

He added, "My legislation that passed today is a necessary first step in reversing Biden’s war on energy by preventing the federal government from banning the use of hydraulic fracturing."

The bill will Democrat-proof future efforts to undue Trump's policies, should a Democrat manage to beat the next Republican presidential candidate.

Several Republican lawmakers announced their support for the bill, and social media users cheered them for backing it.
