Trump claims his administration will likely uncover up to 1 trillion in govnernment waste

President Donald Trump, along with the help of Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) promised American voters that government waste would be slashed on their watch, and they're following through.

According to The Post Millennial, the president announced recently that up to a trillion dollars of government spending waste could be cut during his administration. 

Trump announced that his administration, including DOGE, had already identified billions of dollars in government waste, with likely much more to be uncovered in the coming weeks and months.

He added that as DOGE and his administration near the trillion dollar mark, the impact on the federal budget will be profound.

What did he say?

Trump first said that he hopes the courts, many of which have been working overtime to stop his agenda, "allow us to do what we have to do."

He added that he and his administration were "elected to, among other things, fund all of this fraud, abuse, all of this horrible stuff going on."

One of the biggest cuts so far came from uncovering the rampant, disgusting spending abroad by USAID. Its offices were shuttered last week as the Trump administration considers how to scale it back and streamline it to avoid wasting on asinine programs.

"When you look at USAID, that’s one. We’re gonna look at the military. We’ll look at education. They’re much bigger areas, but the USAID is really corrupt, it’ll tell you, it’s corrupt, incompetent, and it’s really corrupt," Trump said.

The president made the announcement with Musk standing nearby in the Oval Office.

Social media reacts

Users across social media agreed that there's likely much more waste to be uncovered.

"Government audits have consistently uncovered massive waste and fraud. The Pentagon alone failed a $3.8 trillion audit in 2023. The IRS 'lost' billions in misallocated COVID funds. Now, DOGE is finding more? Imagine how bad it really is," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "I would investigate the judges who are interfering for kickbacks. I bet you will find that somewhere, because no one in their right mind would stop this."

Thank goodness we have an administration that is finally taking this issue seriously.
