Musk and DOGE announce slashing of $150 million in wasteful government contracts

Elon Musk and his army of DOGE geniuses are making serious headway in fulfilling President Donald Trump's mission to slash government spending like never before.

According to Fox News, that was evidenced once again as it was reported that Musk and his team identified over $150 million in wasteful government contracts that were ultimately canceled, saving taxpayers another boatload of money.

In a bombshell statement, the Department of Government Efficiency announced that it had 58 contracts slashed on Wednesday.

The contracts "fell under the media, DEI and consulting categories at various agencies" according to an X post by the DOGE team.

What happened?

The Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Transportation were two of the agencies where such programs and contracts were cut, resulting in massive taxpayer savings.

"58 cancellations with savings of >$150M in categories including Media, DEI, and Consulting. This includes $405K at DHS for ‘resilience, energy, and sustainability management program support services’ and ~4M at DoT for ‘DEIA program and project management support services," the DOGE team posted.

Later that evening, the DOGE team reported that they also slashed some $9 million in contracts within the Department of Education.

Fox News noted:

Those contracts included $4.6 million to coordinate zoom and in-person meetings, $3 million to write a report that showed prior reports were not utilized by schools, and $1.4 million to physically observe mailing and clerical operations, according to the DoE.

Social media responds

Users across social media applauded Musk and his team for identifying more waste on a mission to eliminate all government waste, which ultimately benefits the country.

"It’s crazy that doge cancels this many Ludacris government spending and it still runs just fine. Cant wait for the names to be released Thursday," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "Cleaning house and saving taxpayers $150M? That’s what accountability looks like! Cutting waste like $4M for DEIA 'support services' is how we put America back on track. Let’s keep this momentum going!"

It'll be extra exciting to see just how much waste they'll cut over the next four years!
