Bondi standing up to liberal governors refusing to follow executive orders
When Donald Trump nominated Matt Gaetz as his AG, I just about had a heart attack, as I did not feel he was remotely qualified for the job.
After Gaetz dropped his name from consideration, Trump then named Pam Bondi, a decision I loved, and she is proving she was the person for the job every day by taking on liberal governors.
That Got Their Attention
One of Trump's first orders was to ban transgender women from competing in women's sports.
Trump, while signing the order, stated, “The radical left has waged an all-out campaign to erase the very concept of biological sex and replace it with a militant transgender ideology.
“With this executive order, the war on women’s sports is over.”
Maine is among the states refusing to comply, and Bondi will lead the fight in the courtroom.
Going After Sanctuary Cities
If you read my reports regularly, you know the one fight that I wanted this administration to take on right away was sanctuary cities. The Supreme Court has ruled time and again that the federal government has purview over immigration.
Yet, somehow, cities and states have been able to circumvent ICE by declaring themselves as sanctuary cities, laws that I believe are unconstitutional.
Trump took this fight up during his first administration but did so very late in the term, a mistake he did not make this time, as Bondi filed suit to challenge these laws as soon as she was sworn into office.
Be Careful...
Democrat governors continue to defy the order, but Attorney General Pam Bondi is now putting them all on notice.
Bondi warned them all, "You better comply with federal law, or you will be next." She was then asked about the challenges issued by liberal governors like New York's Governor Hochul and Illinois Governor Pritzker, to which she responded, "Bring it on."
Bondi continued, "They are protecting illegal aliens over American citizens – not going to happen. And you better comply with federal law, or you're going to be next."
Governor Pritzker has stated that Trump "has no idea what he's up against when he attacks Illinois," to which Bondi responded, "We've spoken loud and clear. We are sick and tired of Americans being murdered, and these states protecting illegal aliens."
I just don't see how Trump can lose this fight at the Supreme Court level, even with some of these justices walking across the aisle from time to time. It is not going to be an easy fight because the case will have to work its way through the lower courts first, but the fact that Bondi started this fight on her first day in office should allow this to play out long before Trump leaves office.
