CNN: Dems in weakest position in decades

Democrats have clearly not learned the lesson voters tried to give them after the 2024 election.

They continue to double down on woke policies, then Rep. Al Green (D-TX) disrupted Trump’s joint session address, which has led to the Dems being in their weakest position in decades, according to CNN’s political analyst.

Green goes nuclear

Heading into Trump’s address, word leaked that Democrats were planning to disrupt the speech with noisemakers and other props.

That never really came to fruition; however, as Rep. Green tried to disrupt Trump right from the start, Speaker Johnson (R-LA) made it clear that such planned attacks would not be tolerated, eventually removing Green from the chambers.

Again, this did not sit well with voters on either side of the aisle, as polling showed that roughly 80% of all voters did not like the outburst and did not approve of it.

Yet, when the procedural vote was made to censure Smith, not a single Democrat supported the vote. When the censure vote was presented, only a handful of Democrats voted to enforce the censure, roughly 5% of the caucus, far below how their constituents felt.

Democrat support collapsing

In February, Quinnipiac University released a survey on Democrat support among voters, and the results should have been a warning for the party.

Of the more than 1,000 people who were surveyed, only 21% approved of how the Democrat Congress was doing their jobs... this had been the lowest approval rating of the party since 2009.

To add insult to injury, only 40% of Democrats approved of the party’s actions, a staggeringly low number.

In another survey from SurveyUSA, which, from what I have seen, leans a little right, Democrats did far worse. That survey found that only 22% of voters approved of the party, with 60% disapproving.

"In a hole"

Democrats just received yet another warning from voters in the form of CNN’s Ron Brownstein, who believes the party is in the worst shape it has been since the Reagan era.

Brownstein stated, "If you talk to Democrats, you know, they recognize they are in a hole. I mean, the image of the party is probably in a weaker position than at any point since I think the 1980s, the Reagan and George H.W. Bush era.”

He continued, "But if you ask Democrats how they think they are going to come back, there is a debate about, you know, within the party, do you fight on every front or do you focus on the economic issues? And I think most Democrats believe their best chance of kind of getting a second look from the public in 2025 is this debate over the budget.”

This is why Dems are pushing the narrative that the GOP is going to cut Medicaid and Social Security, something of which Musk poured fire on this week. Musk stated that we needed to cut back on entitlement programs, and those two eat up most of that money, which is why I keep harping about Musk shooting off at the mouth about policy. Trump can overhaul these programs, and get rid of the fraud, but he cannot eliminate the programs outright if the GOP expects to win in 2026 and 2028.
