REPORT: Soros linked to funding groups protesting Trump deportations
There are protests all over the country regarding Donald Trump’s deportations to El Salvador.
Not surprisingly, reports are popping up all over the place claiming that George Soros is linked to the funding of these protesters, as well as a lawsuit that was filed to block the deportation.
Soros linked to groups
It is not surprising to see Soros’ name linked to either the protests or the legal battles that have ensued on the part of activists trying to block Trump’s deportation of illegal immigrants.
A report just broke that Soros' funding has been linked to the groups who filed suit, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and Democracy Forward.
Soros reportedly has his talons deeply embedded in Democracy Forward, which has groups such as Center for American Progress, National Immigration Law Center, Color of Change, UnidosUS, Common Justice, and the Catholic Legal Immigration Network listed as its partners and clients.
As an example, Soros’ Open Society Foundation is one of the largest donors of record for the Center for American Progress. For instance, in 2023, CAP received almost $4 million from the foundation.
Not the Only Time
This is far from an exception for Soros, who has pushed the uber-progressive movement along by writing big checks in local races to put his people in place in key positions.
This would include district attorneys and Attorneys General, who appear to be prosecuting fewer crimes and even redefining what constitutes a crime in some instances. For instance, here in Texas, a Soros-backed prosecutor decided not to prosecute petty theft crimes under $500, which immediately impacted the crime rates in Dallas, and not in a good way.
In Pittsburgh, Soros reportedly backed public defender Stephen A. Zappala, Jr. in a DA race, and Zappala came out on top. The majority of the money that funded Zappala’s campaign was linked back to the Pennsylvania Justice and Public Safety PAC, which was funded by Soros.
Some of the other Soros prosecutors we have seen in the news for all the wrong reasons are George Gascon of Los Angeles, Chesa Boudin of San Francisco, Kim Foxx of Chicago, Kim Gardner of St. Louis, Rachael Rollins of Boston, and Marilyn Mosby of Baltimore.
Long History
George Soros is a problem for the GOP because up until Elon Musk entered the fray, we had nobody who would compete on the level of George Soros in terms of funding campaigns with dark money
To that point, during the 2022 mid-term cycle, Soros reportedly donated more than $170 million to political campaigns… and these were just midterm elections.
Soros also drops more than $100 million a year into advocacy groups, usually via the Open Society Foundations network. This has impacted plenty of elections and ballot measures that the GOP would have typically won in red states.
This is why I think we need to outlaw PACs as well as allowing out-of-state and out-of-city money to be donated to candidates in state and local elections. Why is someone in New York allowed to influence an election or ballot measure in Kentucky? The system, my friends, is badly broken.
