Did Witkoff give Russians reason to bomb US factory
Today, a story broke regarding the bombing of an American-owned factory in Ukraine.
When I saw the story, I immediately went back to the comments made by Special Envoy Witkoff.
My opinion… his comments upset Putin, and hitting that factory was no accident.
Massive Drone Attack
The first strike that took place was right before Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky sat down.
Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha explained, "Contrary to all efforts to end the war, Russia undertook a massive combined air strike on Ukraine overnight.”
He continued, "One of the missiles struck a major American electronics manufacturer in our westernmost region, leading to serious damage and casualties.”
This, to me, was a strategic strike done to send a warning to Zelensky. I believe he was sending a message that this is what Zelensky can expect if he does not take a peace deal.
Strike Two
Today, reports surfaced of another Russian attack, which included taking out an American factory. There is no way I can believe this was an accident.
President Zelensky called it “very telling” that Russia hit an American target in a civilian area.
I have to agree, as these missiles can hit with pinpoint accuracy, and Putin surely had intelligence regarding the target.
This, to me, was a purposeful message, which is what brought me back to comments made by Witkoff after Trump had his meetings with Zelensky and Putin. I think this was Putin's answer to Witkoff giving up the tapes on what happened during those meetings.
Loose Lips
Witkoff broke the golden rule of diplomacy by embarrassing his opponent.
After the talks, he told Fox News, "I don't want to delve into the specifics of what was discussed because we're in a negotiation, mediating, and I think we're going to be very successful because of the leadership of President Trump.”
He later added, "But there were concessions almost immediately made on the part of the Russians in the first meeting in Alaska. And, you know, part of getting those concessions was learning whether we were going to be able to see the Russians prepared to be more accommodating."
We all know how Russia reacts to these types of reports, but rather than a denial, as would usually be the case, they decided to bomb Ukraine, where an American factory just happens to be. Now, I could be wrong, but that is my take on why that factory was hit… Witkoff could not keep his mouth shut.
