AOC breaks silence on being called a poseur
During a recent social media battle, AOC claimed she was just a “Bronx girl.”
That myth was shattered when her former yearbook photo was published. AOC initially pushed back, but now there is some real grip about her being a fraud.
Just a Bronx girl
AOC has loved to play the “Bronx girl” card whenever she can, but that narrative was blown out of the water when a former classmate posted her picture at Yorktown High School, which is located in Westchester.
It was only made worse when a former teacher, Michael Bluegrass, gushed over her, stating, “Aside from her winning one of the top spots and going to the [Intel International Science and Engineering Fair], she was just one of the most amazing presenters in all of the years I’ve been at Yorktown.
“Her ability to take complex information and explain it to all different levels of people was fantastic.”
State Assemblyman Matt Slater (R-Yorktown) hit her hard, stating, “She’s embarrassing herself for doing everything possible to avoid saying she grew up in the suburbs instead of the Bronx. She has said she visited extended family, she has said she commuted. Now she’s in between. It’s clearly desperate attempts to protect the lie that she is from the Bronx.”
AOC breaks silence
After the initial hit, AOC fell silent, but that changed on Friday, when she tried to defend herself, but she appeared to dig herself a deeper hole.
AOC stated, “I’m proud of how I grew up and talk about it all the time. My mom cleaned houses and I helped. We cleaned tutors’ homes in exchange for SAT prep.
“Growing up between the Bronx and Yorktown deeply shaped my views of inequality & it’s a big reason I believe the things I do today!”
As Slater noted, now she was trying to middle her story, similar to what Kamala Harris did during her campaign, talking about her days of working at McDonald’s.
Poseur!
A new op-ed in the New York Post just blew AOC’s story out of the water. The op-ed was written by Andrew Peyser, who said she and AOC started out as Bronx girls, but AOC’s life took a far different path.
She wrote, “When she was 5 years old, her family moved to a middle-class life in Westchester County, something she has attempted to hide with her suspicious origin story.
“The lefty congresswoman claims to have helped her mother clean houses in the meager Bronx. Gone too was her childhood nickname, ‘Sandy.’ Ultimately, she went back to the more conveniently ethnic-sounding moniker, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.”
In terms of her congressional seat, this means nothing, but if AOC plans on running for higher office, and there are rumors a White House run in 2028 could be in the cards, lesser scandals have ended campaigns (just ask Joe Biden). I am a firm believer that if there is one thread to pull, there are likely more. My point is, if AOC is lying about something as basic as this, what else is she hiding?
