AOC taunts against Tom Homan could backfire

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), a.k.a. AOC, poked the bear, and she may not like how the bear pokes back.

After taunting Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, she doubled down during a recent town hall event in Queens, and Tom Homan just fired back.

AOC Responds to Homan Threats

This all got started after AOC posted a video on her social media page to offer advice to illegal immigrants on their rights if they are apprehended or approached by law enforcement.

After she posted the video, Homan suggested the DOJ should investigate her for aiding and abetting illegals in escaping custody.

AOC then penned a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi, stating, “I write to request clarity on whether the Department of Justice (DOJ) has yielded to political pressure and attempts to weaponize the agency against elected officials whose speech they disagree with.

“Over the past two weeks, ‘Border Czar’ Tom Homan has gone on multiple forums threatening political prosecution against me, citing resources I distributed informing my constituents and the American public of their constitutional and legal rights.”

Doubling Down

Friday night, AOC held a town hall in Queens, but it was more of a Trump administration bashing session than listening to her constituents.

AOC told attendees, "I don't even want to call them deportations. They are sanctioned kidnappings in many circumstances. They do not have carte blanche to enter. If they do want to knock on your door, or knock on anyone's door — including your workplace — you can tell them, ‘Show me a warrant. Show me a judicial warrant.’

“And if they don't show you a warrant, you can say they can come back with a warrant. You have the right to turn them away."

She then challenged Homan, stating, "When we first did one of these seminars, Tom Homan, then-acting director of ICE, said that he was going to threaten to refer me to the DOJ because I'm using my free speech rights in order to advise people of their constitutionally guaranteed protections. And he may want to do it again today, and to that I say, come for me."

Homan Fires Back

Now, I have talked to my attorney friends, and they tell me that there is no way AOC would ever be convicted over that video, as she was merely posting constitutional rights (and yes, illegals are entitled to due process). It is far from what that judge did in physically helping an illegal evade contact. However, Homan now claims she is taking this to a whole new level.

Homan fired back at AOC, "I take pleasure [that] I can live in her mind rent-free every day, but we all know exactly what she's doing. She's educating the worst of the worst [on] how do we evade law enforcement. But the tables have now turned. She's educating people how to get prosecuted, because you have a final order. It is illegal to not comply with that order.”

He continued, "It's a crime to take steps to... not comply with ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] removal orders or not comply with ICE actions taken in custody. You can't hinder your own removal that was ordered by the federal judge. I would like AOC to read Title 8, United States Code 1253 because it's starting tomorrow."

Here is what I find rather amusing… AOC’s town hall was clearly focused on immigration, yet she is not actually addressing the needs of her constituents. She is more focused on advocating for people who disrespect our laws to enter this country illegally, yet her constituents continue to pull the handle for her in every election. It just makes no sense.
