Army Commander suspended over chain-of-command photos
It seems pretty clear that we have a group of soldiers who do not respect the Secretary of Defense, the president, and the vice president.
To that point, a second commanding officer has been suspended, this time for refusing to post the proper chain-of-command photos on the base.
The Greenland visit
In this quest for Donald Trump to acquire Greenland, Vice President Vance decided to accompany his wife on a trip.
During that trip, Vance made some comments that blew up in the media.
He stated, “Denmark hasn’t done a good job at keeping Greenland safe."
“We know that too often our allies in Europe have not kept pace, they haven’t kept pace with military spending and Denmark has not kept pace in devoting the resources necessary to keep this base, to keep our troops, and in my view, to keep the people of Greenland safe from a lot of very aggressive incursions from Russia, China and other nations with interest in this area,” he continued.
Relieved of Duty
Not long after Vance left the base, Col. Susan Meyers, the commander of the 821st Space Base Group, which oversees Pituffik Space Base, emailed staffers to counter Vance's statements.
Meyers, among other statements, stated that Vance's comments "are not reflective" of the base's views.
Meyers was soon thereafter relieved of duty, with Col. Kenneth Klock, commander of Space Base Delta 1, saying she was relieved due to a "loss of confidence in her ability to lead."
I have to be honest, when I read her email, it was exactly what you would expect from an uber-woke liberal, and it had no place in our military. She was clearly pushing her agenda, and that is simply not acceptable.
Suspended
Col. Sheyla Baez Ramirez was the next one to take the fall after pictures of Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Vice President JD Vance, and President Donald Trump were never installed on the base’s chain-of-command wall.
Hegseth posted, "Commander of Fort McCoy, whose base chain-of-command board was missing photos of Trump, Vance and Hegseth, has been SUSPENDED."
The U.S. Army Reserve Command added, "This suspension is not related to any misconduct. We have no further details to provide at this time while this matter is under review."
As you guys know, I am not a fan of Hegseth, and I think he should be relieved, but there is no place for this level of disrespect in our armed forces. This was 100% the right thing to do.
