Biden Administration Points to Immigration Surges for Spike in Homelessness
Ever since Biden has been in office, we have been ringing the bell about how Biden’s immigration policies were going to create a rise in homelessness.
The Biden administration actually admitted this week that cities are now reporting that asylum claims have increased homelessness by 18% this year alone.
Shock Admission
Joe Biden’s legacy took a major hit this week when the administration had to own up to the fact that Biden’s immigration policies are making parts of this country look like a third-world country.
After a 12% increase in homelessness in 2023, the 2024 increase was a whopping 18%, for a total increase over the last two years of 39%. The report, in part, stated, “Migration had a particularly notable impact on family homelessness, which rose 39% from 2023-2024. In the 13 communities that reported being affected by migration, family homelessness more than doubled. Whereas in the remaining 373 communities, the rise in families experiencing homelessness was less than 8%.
“Rents have also stabilized significantly since January 2024. Since then, HUD has added 435,000 new rental units in the first three quarters of 2024; that’s more than 120,000 new units each quarter. The PIT Count was conducted at the tail of significant increases in rental costs, as a result of the pandemic and nearly decades of under-building of housing. Rents are flat or even down in many cities since January.”
Dems say they are bringing these families here for a better life, yet family homelessness has increased by 40%. As I have stated numerous times, when you bring largely uneducated migrants into the country who cannot speak the language with no real way to support themselves, you have a recipe for disaster.
Immigration Under Biden
According to a recent report from the House Oversight and Accountability Committee and the House Homeland Security Committee, we have had more than eight million encounters, more than 75% of that at the southern border (and these are very conservative estimates).
In addition to those, there are roughly two million gotaways that are not floating around inside the country.
The report stated, “The serious national security concerns shared by Republicans have fallen on deaf ears, but maybe Democrats will listen to the men and women at the front lines of the border crisis.”
This is all a result of the Biden administration blatantly ignoring our immigration laws in an effort to bring these migrants in with the hope of eventually getting them amnesty. This, of course, has led to conservatives believing Biden did this to load up Democrats with millions of voters over the next decade.
National Security Threat
Democrats have never even considered the national security and criminal issues with their immigration policies, but we have been warning of these issues from literally day one. The report from the committee also touched on some of the key issues.
For instance, it reported, “[O]ur Sector Intelligence Unit estimates that the weekly revenue for illicit human smuggling in our sector along, the Del Rio Sector alone, is in excess of $30 million a week.”
It further stated, “We have seen a rise in the number of [Terrorist Screening Data Set] hits, which is individuals that have a record of potential terrorist ties. And in the last 2 years we’ve continued to see significantly more.”
Tom Homan, Trump’s incoming Border Czar, stated that “open border policies have created the greatest national security crisis since 9/11.” I have stated many times that I believed sometime over the next four years, unless something is done, we are likely to have another significant terror attack on our soil. Clearly, and Homan seems to agree, that was not hyperbole.
