Biden Appears to be Inching U.S. into a War

There is one bragging point that Donald Trump has that no modern-day president has been able to say… he did not enter the United States into any new wars on his watch.

For Joe Biden, that time appears to be ready to end because he has now ordered boots on the ground in Israel.

Boots on the Ground

While Joe Biden has been publicly telling Israel to call for a cease-fire, he is still sending Israel plenty of aid to fight Hamas and now Hezbollah. Part of that aid is now the Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system.

I don't think anyone reading this will have a problem with that, but they may have a problem that with those systems comes 100 American troops, putting boots on the ground in Israel during its war with Hamas.

The fact the United States is putting boots on the ground escalates our involvement in this conflict, once again, involving America in a foreign war with more than just aid. And if one of our troops gets killed, well, that is a game changer.

Changing the Dynamic

EJ Kimpton, policy director at the U.S. Israel Education Association, is on the same page as me on this, stating, "Israel's mantra has been, you know, with 'Never Again,' meaning we will defend ourselves by ourselves, obviously working with allies, but that we should be able to defend our country and not be dependent upon others.

"It changes the dynamic between the U.S. and Israel in Israel's war fighting over the years. This would be the first time that U.S. personnel would be actively engaged in essentially fighting a war with Israel if Iran were to carry out additional strikes."

Trita Parsi, vice president of the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft, also commented, stating, "It's inescapable to see it as anything else [than escalation], the United States is now actually sending troops. We did not do that in Ukraine.

"We may end up having American casualties, and to put soldiers in that type of vulnerable situation for something that is not the defense of the United States itself, I think, is a very serious step taken by the administration."

Netanyahu Stands His Ground

Joe Biden has another problem on his hands, that being pushback from Prime Minister Netanyahu. Once again, the administration is calling out Israel publicly, this time for fighting Hezbollah, which is anchored in Lebanon. Some rather aggressive comments were made by Defense Secretary Austin, calling for a diplomatic solution.

Challenging Netanyahu in public never worked well, and it did not work well this time. Netanyahu responded, "We listen to the opinions of the United States, but we will make our final decisions based on our national interest."

This is a problem for both Biden and Harris. For Biden, he is being openly challenged by someone fighting a war on our dime. For Harris, there is a significant faction of the Democrat voting demographic that clearly supports Palestine and Hamas, as well as Lebanon and Hezbollah, over Israel. And if we are still in these conflicts and have boots on the ground on election day, they will never pull the handle for her, and that is a problem in states like Michigan and Wisconsin, which have large Muslim populations.
