Biden Calls Canceled After ‘Garbage’ Gaffe
Joe Biden made a major mistake at the worst time last week for Harris.
Biden called Trump supporters “garbage” on a campaign call, and now he has reportedly been pulled off the campaign.
Can’t Say That Joe
If you have been sleeping under a rock, you may have missed Joe Biden calling Trump supporters “garbage.”
Biden was on a call, where he stated, “The only garbage I see floating out there is (Trump's) supporters… his demonization of Latinos is unconscionable, and it's un-American.”
The White House then reportedly edited the transcript to read “supporters.” Joe Biden then tried to clarify his comments. Biden stated, "Earlier today I referred to the hateful rhetoric about Puerto Rico spewed by Trump's supporter at his Madison Square Garden rally as garbage - which is the only word I can think of to describe it.”
If you can believe it, Donald Trump actually asked his supporters to forgive Joe Biden, but he did take a shot at him in the process.
Trump stated, “He doesn’t know. You have to please forgive him. Please forgive him for not knowing what he said. Terrible, terrible, terrible to say a thing like that. But he really doesn’t know. He really, honestly, he doesn’t.”
Holding Joe Accountable
After it was reported that the White House had done an unprecedented edit of the transcript, House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik and House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer were livid.
The two issued a joint letter demanding answers. It stated, "In less than one week, the American people will determine the winner of the 2024 presidential election. They will choose between two candidates: President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. President Biden — marred by unpopular policies, scandal, and apparent cognitive deterioration — has chosen not to pursue a second term in office.
"President Biden, however, has continued to play a prominent role in Vice President Harris’s campaign and, indeed, is the most powerful mouthpiece for the Biden-Harris Administration’s policies and views that Ms. Harris presumably seeks to continue under a hypothetical Harris-Walz Administration."
The letter continued, "President Biden’s vindictive words were unsurprising, given his previous statements regarding people who choose not to vote for his preferred candidate. Unsurprising too were the White House’s actions after he said them."
It concluded, "The move is not only craven, but it also appears to be in violation of federal law, including the Presidential Records Act of 1978. White House staff cannot rewrite the words of the President of the United States to be more politically on message."
Take Him Out
On Thursday, reports started to blow up that Biden’s campaign calls were being canceled. Fox News reported, “While Harris campaigns in Wisconsin, President Biden was hundreds of miles away talking to union workers in Philadelphia at an official event. Tonight, Fox News has learned multiple campaign calls that were publicly advised on the president’s schedule for yesterday afternoon were canceled as he faces continuing fallout over his “garbage” comment on a Zoom earlier this week.”
I had stated earlier in the week that one big mistake could cost someone this race, and that may have just been the mistake that ended Harris’ campaign.
