Biden Last-Minute Pardons Create Chaos for Democrat Party
We all know Joe Biden was not happy about being removed from the 2024 election.
It would appear that Joe Biden got his revenge on the party with a slew of pardons that will create havoc for the Democrat Party.
Commuting Sentence of Cop Killer
Just prior to leaving office on January 20, 2025, Joe Biden issued a few more pardons that had everyone shaking their heads.
One was to offer clemency for Leonard Peltier, 80, an Indigenous activist convicted of murdering two FBI agents, shooting them in the head, in 1975.
Former Director Wray recommended against the pardon, which may be why Biden waited until the last second to offer clemency to Peltier. The FBI Agents Association (FBIAA) was livid, stating, “The FBI Agents Association (FBIAA) is outraged by then-President Biden’s decision to commute the sentence of Leonard Peltier, a convicted cop killer responsible for the brutal murders of FBI Special Agents Jack Coler and Ronald Williams.
“This last-second, disgraceful act by then-President Biden, which does not change Peltier’s guilt but does release him from prison, is cowardly and lacks accountability. It is a cruel betrayal to the families and colleagues of these fallen Agents and is a slap in the face of law enforcement.”
Biden Gives Brother Blanket Pardon
After having already given Hunter Biden a pardon, Joe offered pardons to several family members just moments before leaving the Oval Office for the final time.
This has effectively killed investigations in his family for influence peddling, and even the leftist media thought Biden went too far here.
For instance, CNN’s John King stated, “It’s just unseemly. If you’re going to do it, have the courage to do it in the light of day and explain it to the American people. It’s a stain on his legacy to do it like this.”
Biden issued a statement on the pardons only moments before leaving office, stating, “My family has been subjected to unrelenting attacks and threats, motivated solely by a desire to hurt me — the worst kind of partisan politics. Unfortunately, I have no reason to believe these attacks will end.”
Words Come Back
Biden also pre-emptively pardoned Dr. Fauci and members of the January 6 Select Committee. He also gave General Mark Milley (ret) a pardon, claiming they would be “targets of unjustified and politically motivated prosecutions.”
Biden broke yet another promise made before taking office, having told Jake Tapper in December 2020, “It concerns me in terms of … how the rest of the world looks at us as a nation of laws and justice. You’re not going to see in our administration that kind of approach to pardons.”
When Donald Trump was considering pre-emptive pardons, then-Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said it “would be a gross abuse of the presidential pardon authority.” When MSNBC’s Joy Reid questioned anyone who was allegedly innocent needing a pre-emptive pardon, going on to say it sounded like a coverup, then-Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) stated, “I certainly would view it that way. I think millions of Americans would view it that way. If there was no belief in criminality, why would he think a pardon was necessary?”
Democrats are not happy about these pardons because they are the ones who will have to answer for them, and it lessens the attacks they can launch against Trump for his pardons of J6 defendants. Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) was adamant he did not want to see these pardons. Former President Bill Clinton suggested Biden should consult with him before making such a move, and Senator Amy Klobucher (D-MN) also warned Biden against making these pardons. They all did this because they knew it would be a major setback for Democrats. They should actually be glad Trump pardoned all the J6 defendants because that will surely dominate the news cycle more than the pardons issued by Biden.
