Biden Legacy Could Be Destroyed by Trump
When Joe Biden took office, he made it clear that he wanted to be the climate change president.
Biden has hurt this country to earn that title, but it may be short-lived once Trump gets into office.
The Biden Agenda
When Biden took office, he had a very ambitious agenda on the climate change front, and he put it into action right away.
Biden locked down the fossil fuel industry in this country, which led to rising fuel costs, which sent inflation soaring through the roof.
Biden also locked down the automobile industry, putting massive restrictions in vehicle emissions, hoping to have zero emissions by 2035, a completely unrealistic goal.
Biden went to war with appliances as well, looking at outlawing gas-powered stoves. Nothing was going to stand in his way of getting a slap on the back by climate activists.
Robbing Peter to Pay Paul
However, much of what Biden did was smoke and mirrors. For instance, the United States was still using the same amount of gasoline and coal, but now we were importing it from other nations.
You see, as far as climate change is concerned, it does not matter where the emissions are produced, it is the fact that they are being produced.
So when Biden started reducing oil production and refining in this country, it was only relocated to another country, so while the United States was reducing emissions, emissions in countries like China and Russia were increasing.
Not only that, but Biden left with a national security risk by leaving Trump with a national reserve that is at a historical low. If we went to war right now and had our oil supplies cut, we would be dry within a few weeks, thanks to Biden’s use of that supply to lower gasoline prices.
Ending His Legacy
The only thing that Biden has to stand on for his presidency right now is his climate change agenda, and Trump can destroy that just about as soon as he moves into the White House.
Trump can start by ending Biden’s EV mandate, which would have required nearly two-thirds of all cars being driven in this country to be EVs by 2032. With current sales, there is just no way that will happen unless the majority of gasoline powered cars are just removed from the market.
Trump can really hurt Biden’s legacy if he starts offering gas and coal leases again, which have been at a virtual standstill since Biden took office.
Biden has another plan in place that I suspect will go into the shredder once Trump takes office. That is the Waste Emissions Charge, which would have crushed the oil and gas industry. Energy independence… if we achieve that again, most of our other problems should go away with our energy problems.
