Biden Softened Sanctions on Iran After Election
If you look at some of the moves made by Joe Biden since the election, it seems pretty clear that Biden is trying to sabotage this administration.
The latest move we found out about was Biden loosening nearly $10 billion in sanctions against Iran after the election.
Trump Sanctions
When Trump was in office, his plan was to cripple Iran with sanctions to the point the country was in financial ruin.
In September 2020, Trump added sanctions, with then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announcing, “Our actions today are a warning that should be heard worldwide. No matter who you are, if you violate the U.N. arms embargo on Iran, you risk sanctions.”
White House national security adviser Robert O’Brien added, “When the United States entered into the failed Iran nuclear deal, the Obama administration told the American people that the United States would always have the right to restore U.N. sanctions on Iran, even without the approval of other nations. … President Trump is now exercising our rights to protect America and our allies.”
Oddly enough, the media and Democrats tried to make Trump out to be the bad guy in all of this because Trump pulled out of the nuclear deal with Iran after the country was clearly not pulling its weight in the deal.
Did the Sanctions Work?
The bottom line here is that the sanctions worked, and we had Iran on the brink before Joe Biden took office.
For instance, the country started to see a massive dip in its economy after the sanctions were reinstated against Iran.
At the time, the BBC reported, “As a result of the sanctions, Iran's gross domestic product (GDP) contracted an estimated 4.8% in the 2018 and is forecast to shrink another 9.5% in 2019, according to the International Monetary Fund. The unemployment rate meanwhile rose from 14.5% in 2018 to 16.8% in 2019.”
A major part of this was the massive drop in oil exports by Iran, which fell to a decade-low output in 2019. Again, Trump had this country on the brink, but then came along Joe Biden to save them.
Biden Lifts Sanctions
In February 2021, Biden loosened sanctions against Iran, at the time it was believed to help ease the pain of the oil crunch after Biden went to war with the fossil fuel industry in this country.
That allowed Iran to start generating massive income again, which clearly went to fund terrorist activity, particularly against Israel, but Biden still has not learned his lesson.
After the election, it was reported by the Washington Free Beacon, “Secretary of State Antony Blinken determined on November 8 that ‘it is in the national security interest of the United States’ to waive mandatory economic sanctions that bar Iraq from transferring upward of $10 billion to Iran in electricity import payments.
Let’s not forget, in addition to this move, Joe Biden also gave the thumbs up for Ukraine to start using long-range missiles against Russia, which Putin has stated he would consider an act of war. Maybe I am being special here, but it sure looks like Biden is doing everything he can to upset our enemies right before Trump takes over to score political points at the risk of sending our country into multiple war fronts at the same time.
