Biden’s Pardon of Hunter a Political Gift for Donald Trump

Joe Biden was in the Christmas spirit a little early this year, saving Trump a lot of grief by pardoning his son.

Many, including myself, believe that Trump would have pardoned Hutner, and he likely would have paid a significant price for doing so. He now avoids that problem with Joe already granting the pardon.

Joe tried to blame Hunter’s crimes on everyone but Hunter when he announced this pardon, tugging on heartstrings for approval.

In part, Biden stated, “Today, I signed a pardon for my son Hunter. From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with the Justice Department’s decision-making, and I kept my word even as I have watched my son being selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted. Without aggravating factors like use in a crime, multiple purchases, or buying a weapon as a straw purchaser, people are almost never brought to trial on felony charges solely for how they filled out a gun form.

“Those who were late paying their taxes because of serious addictions, but paid them back subsequently with interest and penalties, are typically given non-criminal resolutions. It is clear that Hunter was treated differently.”

Hunter was treated differently, but not in the way that Biden is saying. He was given favors throughout this investigation, but he continued to thumb his nose at the system, and now he has been rewarded for it.

Trump Was Right

This is a gift of the biggest magnitude for Trump, as Biden has proven that Trump was right all along about Biden politicizing the DOJ.

Republican strategist and communicator Ryan Williams noted, "He's essentially endorsing Trump's long-held opinion that the Department of Justice is politicized and isn't acting impartially.”

This has not only saved Trump the outrage from the right for pardoning Hunter, but it also opens the door for Trump to offer J6 defendants a pardon, then point to Hunter’s pardon when the outrage ensues.

Biden took the supposed moral high ground that Dems think they have and tossed it right into the shredder.

Even the Left is Upset

There are quite a few people on the left who were upset over this, but my favorite argument came from liberal podcast host Charlamagne Tha God.

He was very open that he could really care less about Hunter’s crimes or the pardon, but he was very upset at how all this was presented along the way, as well as Biden’s lame excuse for the pardon. He stated, “I just want Democrats to stop acting like they are on this moral high ground politically when they have shown us they’re not. You know, whether it’s skipping the primary process when Biden had stepped down and things like Biden pardoning his son.

“Stop acting like y’all are the pure party and Republicans aren’t. And it also shows me elected officials can do whatever they want as long as they have the political will and courage to do it.”

Dems have never had the moral high ground, but they make an awfully big show of having it. Let’s go back to the days of the Russian collusion investigation when Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) countered the memo released by then-Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA), which had outlined FISA abuse. Schiff countered every claim, but it was Schiff’s memo that was debunked by the DOJ Inspector General’s office, not Nunes’. Dems lie… it’s what they do, and it is what they have always done.
