Bill Maher blasts Democrats for supporting Mamdani in NYC mayoral race
Bill Maher has become rather entertaining over the last four years.
While he was leading the charge with TDS during Trump’s first term, he has been much softer on Trump since his dinner meeting that sent the left into a tizzy.
Now, he is calling out the entire Democrat Party, saying that Mamdani is a litmus test for its future.
He Was a Terrorist
I have not hidden my opinion of Mamdani, as I believe he is a wolf in wolf’s clothing, meaning that if you have been paying attention to his actions rather than his words, you would be able to see what he is really all about.
To that point, Bill Maher pointed to the fact that Mamdani was campaigning with a non-indicted co-conspirator from the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
On that, Maher stated, “[H]e did campaign with a terrorist this week. Well, he campaigned this week with a guy who was an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and served as a character witness for Omar Abdel-Rahman, the terrorist who organized it. So, Sarah Palin used to say Obama palled around with terrorists, which was bullshit, but…”
He later added, “I just don’t know if this is a great look for the party, I really don’t.”
Sister Souljah Moment
Mamdani was not done talking about this election, saying that this was a “Sister Souljah Moment” issue for the Democrat Party.
He then explained, “I think I have the issue, and it’s the mayor’s race in New York. I think, he seems like a sweet guy, Mamdani. But I would just like to say…this is not just New York that’s on the ballot.
“I think the whole Democratic Party in the country is on the ballot, and the whole country will be looking at this race to see which way are the Democrats going to go. I know Andrew Cuomo may not be that exciting and that inspirational, but, for a party that said, we want to get back to normal, he’s kind of normal.”
So far, the Democrat Party has failed, as party leadership has started to crack and fall in line with Mamdani, the latest being House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), who announced on Friday that he was supporting Mamdani.
Current Polling
While Mamdani takes these hits, his polling has stayed consistent, with the outside factors impacting the other candidates, not Mamdani.
For instance, when Mayor Adams dropped out of the race, it was GOP candidate Curtis Sliwa who surged up to 16%, gaining most of what Adams left on the table in the race, while Cuomo remained down by 18%, trailing 47-29%.
Early voting for the election started on Saturday, and from the reporting I have seen, turnout has been significant, far more than the city has ever seen, so Sliwa dropping out at this point would serve no purpose.
Having said that, there was still enough of an undecided vote to impact this race, and Mayor Adams said he was going to campaign with Cuomo. Sliwa also just lost a major backer, who is now falling in line behind Cuomo. I still believe Mamdani will win rather easily, but Cuomo will probably get this down to single digits by election day, which will then have everyone attacking Sliwa for allowing Mamdani to take the city (I am already on record saying that as a major party candidate, I do not blame Sliwa for not wanting to drop out. I put the blame on Cuomo for running as an independent, as well as the NY GOP for not taking this race seriously from the outset.)
