Bondi goes to war with Democrats and their blue states
Attorney General Pam Bondi has decided to go to war with Democrats.
Not only is she suing multiple blue states, but she was also ferocious when called before the Senate.
Sue Them All
Bondi has filed suit against the entire federal district of Maryland due to all the injunctions that have been placed against the Trump administration.
The lawsuit stated, “Defendants’ automatic injunction issues whether or not the alien needs or seeks emergency relief, whether or not the court has jurisdiction over the alien’s claims, and no matter how frivolous the alien’s claims may be.
“And it does so in the immigration context, thus intruding on core Executive Branch powers.”
Bondi has a real case here, as we have repeatedly seen the Supreme Court and appellate courts overturn a decision simply because the court itself did not have jurisdiction, but these liberal judges were so anxious to get a piece of Trump, they kept the case.
Not Doing Anything
Bondi had a couple of epic exchanges this week while appearing before committee, and one of my favorites was against Rep. Jack Reed (D-R.I.), who dared to say she was doing nothing about stopping Mexican gangs from getting guns from the United States.
Bondi responded to his initial inquiry, “We are arresting people who have illegal firearms in our country. We’re not sending people back to Mexico with guns. We’re throwing them in our jails and prosecuting them.”
Reed shot back that she was allowing guns to be purchased here and taken into Mexico, while this administration is allowing it to happen.
Bondi went nuclear, stating, “That was the policy of the last four years of the Biden administration with open borders. You could come back and forth across our borders. You could buy guns. You could take guns off the street. You could shoot people in our country. You could bring fentanyl into our country. You could bring methamphetamine into our country. You could bring cocaine into our country. That was the previous administration, not this one.”
Purple-haired Meltdown
The exchange of the week had to be between Bondi and Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), who I claimed had blue hair the other day and was politely informed that it was purple and I was a horrible journalist (I still think it looks blue). Mind you, my critic did not comment on the political points I made, just the color of her hair.
DeLauro was asking Bondi about the cuts in agencies that are being combined, but she refused to allow Bondi to answer.
It is typical of what we see in Congress today. The exchange is in the video below, but take note of the comments by the host of the video, who makes the point I have been hammering for years... that hearings are now nothing more than a show to create a viral moment that can be used to drive fundraising.
Congress, my friends, is pathetic, and we have to do something about it ASAP. We need to remove the fossils who refuse to leave, but more importantly, we need to remove social media stars and replace them with real lawmakers (and this is on both sides of the aisle).
