Charlamagne tha God Reversal on Donald Trump

All throughout the 2024 election, Charlamagne the God was backing Kamala Harris and calling Donald Trump a “fascist.”

Honestly, I am not even sure people calling Trump a fascist know the real definition of the word, but now Charlamagne is pulling back on this initial stance.

A Fascist!

Per Merriam-Webster, fascism is “a populist political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual, that is associated with a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, and that is characterized by severe economic and social regimentation and by forcible suppression of opposition.”

When you look at the definition of the word, it hardly characterizes the Republican Party and Donald Trump.

Democrats just had a president who issued more Executive Orders in his first 100 days than any other president in recent history. It was Joe Biden who dismissed our legislative process and put his personal agenda in place.

And it is Democrats who have forcibly put down their opposition and continue to try to do so.

Keep Calling Trump a Fascist

This was and remains a big talking point for Democrats. They love those “ist” and “ic” words, such as racist, fascist, and xenophobic. They know these words trigger people, so they constantly slap the label on Donald Trump and conservatives.

To that point, after Charlamagne tha God interviewed Kamala Harris, he insisted that Harris needed to “keep calling Donald Trump a fascist.”

He added, “And I think that Americans need to keep looking at the rhetoric of Donald Trump because I don’t know why we’re even thinking about electing somebody who’s talking about putting people in camps.

“I don’t know why we’re talking, why we want to elect somebody who’s talking about mass deportation. I don’t know why we’re having this conversation about somebody who wants to terminate the Constitution to overthrow the results of an election.”

Maybe I Was Wrong

After spouting Democrat talking points for the duration of the election, Charlamagne is now rethinking what he had thought before, stating, “I never called Donald Trump a fascist based off anything I heard from Democrats.

"I said that because of things I heard come out of Donald Trump’s mouth, right? But guess what? I don’t even know if I believe it anymore. But only because of how they’re acting. I’m like, well goddamn, maybe it ain’t that much of a threat.”

He also went off on Democrats like Barack Obama, stating, “After you went so hard calling somebody a threat to democracy and calling somebody a fascist and now you just chummy chummy with the man? You told us he was a threat to democracy. To me, that’s just terrible political optics … after you’ve used such crazy-ass rhetoric against him.”

For years, I have been saying this is all political theater, that all these people are laughing at us behind closed doors, but now they are not even doing it secretly. It’s a show, my friends… that is all politics is right now. And unfortunately, we keep paying the price of admission.
