Clooney denies going off on producer over Biden op-ed

After the presidential debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, George Clooney wrote an op-ed to ask Biden to step down from the election.

Reports later surfaced that Clooney was upset that a producer had allowed a TV host to say that Obama had influenced the article, claims that Clooney now denies.

The Op-Ed

Clooney wrote his op-ed after he helped raise more than $30 million for Joe Biden at a star-studded event.

His piece was titled, “George Clooney: I Love Joe Biden. But We Need a New Nominee.”

Clooney made the case that Joe Biden was a hero (he is not), and that he had done many great things for this country (he has not), but the time had come for him to step aside and ignore the fact he was elected as the candidate on the ticket in the primary race for the 2024 presidential election

That piece was debated in the media, but the co-host of “Morning Joe” believes that Clooney was nothing more than a mouthpiece for Barack Obama.

Obama Was Behind It

The fun all got started when Mika Brzezinski challenged why Clooney wrote the piece in the first place.

She stated, “This wasn’t George Clooney. I think that Barack Obama has a lot of influence.”

Reports surfaced that Clooney went ballistic; he called his producer and asked her, “How the f--- could you let her link me with Barack Obama, saying he made me write the op-ed?”

He allegedly further stated, “You f----d me. You’re my friend. You should have stood up for me.”

Clooney Says It Never Happened

The report about Clooney wigging out had quite a bit of detail and seemed genuine, but Clooney is now saying that the exchange never happened.

Clooney explained to Jake Tapper, "That never happened. Now, it’s an interesting thing. You know, here‘s a funny thing about this. You‘re writing a book, you know, and all I have to do is tell the truth.

“I have emails. I was ticked off when it was Mika Brzezinski — who I like, perfectly nice woman — but she said that, you know, that President Obama was behind me writing the op-ed, and that’s not true at all. It has no basis in fact. And I wrote Mike Barnicle and I just said, what is that about?"

I am not buying what Clooney said because I have heard stories like this about him before, as he does not want to be portrayed as someone’s lap dog. I think he said it, but he is just trying to keep his public image intact rather than being portrayed as a bully.
