Dem House member conceded Musk is likely to find wasteful spending
Elon Musk’s opening of the books for USAID has created quite a stir.
And while most of the Democrats in Congress are losing their minds, Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) has taken a shockingly different approach.
Shut It Down
It remains to be seen if USAID will be shut down, but Trump clearly took the bull by the horns after Musk exposed all the excessive spending, which has been going on for years, by the way, and not just under the Biden administration.
For instance, when Trump was in office, USAID was seeing a nearly $40 billion budget, but the media has not opened up the books on that yet. But I would guarantee it will happen and when it does, Trump will have some serious questions to answer.
For now, however, Trump addressed the idea of shutting it down and if he would need an act of Congress to do so, stating, "I don't think so. If not, when it comes to fraud, if there's fraud, these people are lunatics. And if -- if it comes to fraud, you wouldn't have an act of Congress.
“And I'm not sure that you would anyway. But we just wanted to do the right thing. That's, that's something that should have been done a long time ago. It went crazy during the Biden administration. They went totally crazy.”
Democrat Meltdown
Seeing Democrats react to this, you would think just threw the Constitution into the shredder.
For example, if you were watching the news, you saw Senator Cory Booker (D-N.J.) completely losing it outside the Capitol, screaming at the top of his lungs, "We will fight their violation of civil service laws. We will fight their violation of civil rights laws.
“We will fight their violations of separation of powers. We will fight their violations of our Constitution of the United States of America," Booker said. "We will not shut up. We will stick up. We will rise up."
Democrats were literally calling for an uprising in the streets, which sounds an awful lot like encouraging an insurrection or riot to me, yet the media is not even looking at that angle.
There is Waste
Listen, if you want to salvage programs that are actually helping people, I am all for it, but when we are paying $6 million for Egyptian tourism and more than $70,000 for a transgender opera, as the administration claims, well, I have a problem with that.
I continued to ask why Democrats were not interested in the wasteful and possibly corrupt spending, and then came along Rep. Khanna, who stated, “I think they are likely to find awful examples of wasteful spending. I don’t contest that. I’m sure they can legitimately offer transparency and sunlight to the American people. Just come to Congress, show us what you’re finding, and then force up or down votes. And if Ro Khanna still votes for those wasteful spending, I’ll have to answer back home.”
While I appreciate his comments, I hate to break it to him, but Congress already did vote on all this spending, as did Republicans, so they already need to answer for it.
This is not just Democrats, as Republicans have approved these budgets, but that is the problem when you have omnibus bills that nobody gets to read before they vote on it. These people have no clue where our money is going, and they could care less… until now.
