Democrat governor’s pardon from 2019 comes back into the spotlight

When Donald Trump pardoned his buddies, the media just about lost their minds.

When Biden pardoned his family, the media said he was being a good father. There was another clemency order that took place that never really seemed to make headlines, but it was not from either Biden or Trump.

Joe Biden Pardons and Commutations

Joe Biden’s last few days in office were a flurry of pardons and commutations, all of which are now about to be challenged when it was revealed they were signed with an autopen.

That aside, when Biden offered up pardons for nearly 2,500 drug offenders, the media did not blink.

Next, Biden pardoned his son, Hunter, and threw in some pardons and commutations for murders and a few other violent criminals.

Then, as Biden walked out the door, he pre-emptively pardoned his family members and members of the J6 committee, as well as Dr. Fauci.

Who Was Worse?

As soon as Trump got back into office, he pardoned or commuted the sentences of all but a handful of the J6 protesters who had been arrested.

I was very outspoken about it at the time, stating that I could care less about the people wandering around the Capitol, but anyone who had beat on a cop should have been left in jail. I have also been outspoken about some of the other Trump pardons, including that of a corrupt Democrat governor.

As much as I hated those pardons, in the overall scheme of things, I think Biden’s pardons were worse, and John Yoo and John Shu, a Professor of Law at the University of California at Berkeley and an attorney and legal commentator, agree.

They co-wrote an opinion piece in Newsweek outlining their reasoning on this, and it is definitely worth a read when you have an additional five minutes (click here to read the full report).

Nobody Noticed

That brings us to the clemency order issued that slipped under the radar from 2019 by Governor Jay Inslee, but will now come back to haunt Democrats.

Inslee granted clemency to Percy Levy, who was arrested on Thursday after a lengthy investigation, having been caught with enough fentanyl to kill more than 275,000 people. He was also in possession of 14.7 grams of crack and 2,818 grams of powder cocaine. All told, he was charged with 11 Class B Felonies.

Inslee has previously offered Levy clemency after the possession of a controlled substance was reclassified as a misdemeanor charge. But Levy clearly did not learn his lesson.

Oh, if you would like the cherry on top of this sundae, Levy is the treasurer and board member of the Seattle-King County chapter of Black Lives Matter.
