Democrats Suggest Shadow Government While Trump in Office
Donald Trump's being elected president caused the expected meltdown among Democrats, but now they are truly going off the reservation.
Multiple Democrats have now suggested creating a shadow government to monitor the Trump administration.
America Makes a Statement
If Democrats were smart, they would be taking a hard look at their politics after taking such a beatdown in the 2024 election.
Instead, they continue to project their issues onto the American people.
As an example, notorious liberal and filmmaker Michael Moore suggested that Trump will be executing his political enemies, as well as saying that electing Trump proves that “We are not a good people.”
Trump just had the biggest win for Republicans in two decades, and this included flipping some counties that have not voted red in more than a century, so I think Moore would be well served, like Democrats, to look within rather than continuing to blame voters for their failures.
Schumer Warns Against Extremism in Senate
What is the Democrats' answer to a rebuke of government overreach by the American voter? Well, more overreach.
Last week, Senator Schumer warned the Republicans against going to the extreme, which is precisely what Democrats did as soon as they got control. Schumer stated, “To my Republican colleagues, I offer a word of caution in good faith: Take care not to misread the will of the people, and do not abandon the need for bipartisanship. After winning an election, the temptation may be to go to the extreme. We’ve seen that happen over the decades, and it has consistently backfired on the party in power.
“So, instead of going to the extremes, I remind my colleagues that this body is most effective when it’s bipartisan. If we want the next four years in the Senate to be as productive as the last four, the only way that will happen is through bipartisan cooperation.”
Let’s not forget that the Democrats have used reconciliation on multiple occasions to pass budget legislation and threatened to end the filibuster. Sadly, this does not stop here.
House Dem Recommends Shadow Government
Rep. Wiley Nickel (D-N.C.) appeared to take Schumer’s suggestion and pour steroids all over it, suggesting that the Democrats literally form a shadow government to monitor the actions of the Trump administration.
In part, Nickel stated, “The special relationship between the United States and Britain extends not just to our strength on the global stage, but also to our shared commitment to democracy.
“Across the Atlantic, the British have something we don’t: A team from the opposition that mirrors the government’s own Cabinet members. They watch the Cabinet closely, publicly, challenging, scrutinizing and offering new ideas.”

Can you imagine what the headlines would be today if a Republican had suggested something so radical when Biden was in office? Democrats just don’t get it, period. When your answer to pushback against overreach is more overreach, you are dooming your party to failure, which is just fine by me.
