Dems called out for pro-woman attire after blocking bill to protect women’s sports

During Trump’s joint session address, many of the female Senate Democrats who attended the speech were wearing pink, which they proclaimed showed their support for women’s rights.

Yet, every single one of them voted against a bill to protect the integrity and safety of women’s sports, a fact Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) was more than happy to point out.

Hypocrites

My position on transgenders in sports is well documented at this point. My concern is both the integrity of the sport as well as the safety of its participants.

We have already seen biological women injured, with one of those attending Trump’s address, and I believe it is only a matter of time before a woman is killed during a contact or combat sport competing against a biological male. Consider the fact that the young lady at the speech was injured playing volleyball… then tell me how you think someone will be safe in an MMA fight or a contact sport like lacrosse or ice hockey.

To that exact point, Senator Lee posted, "When you see Democrats wearing pink for the TV cameras tonight, remember that 45 of them voted for men to invade women’s sports just yesterday.”

The bill in question failed in the Senate with a 51-45 vote, with every Democrat Senator present voting against it.

New York Times Poll

If you read my posts regularly, you know I believe far too many politicians push their own agenda over the agenda of the people who elected them to office. They think they are leaders instead of representatives, so they push a party line rather than what the American people voted for.

This was a key issue for Trump’s campaign, and he had a landslide victory, yet not a single Democrat voted to remove biological males from women’s sports. Well, The New York Times recently asked its readers, “Thinking about transgender female athletes — meaning athletes who were male at birth but who currently identify as female — do you think they should or should not be allowed to compete in women’s sports?”

The survey was done among more than 2,100 people, and 79% said biological males should not be in women’s sports. There were slightly more than 1,000 Democrats who responded to the poll, and 67% of them agreed that biological males should not be in women’s sports.

Yet again, not a single Democrat Senator supported the legislation, when, by those numbers, roughly 25 of them should have supported it.

They Have a Woman Problem

It would appear that transgenders in sports now has a bit more pull for women than abortion because the Democrat Party now has a clear woman issue, as was noted in a recent piece by Christine Rosen in the National Review.

She noted that the group of celebrity women who were supposed to push Harris over the finish line to defeat Trump actually failed her. Harris lost support among women, scoring five full points less than Biden in 2024 than Joe did in 2020.

In the key demographic of women under 30, Harris lost 14 points between 2020 and 2024, a devastating blow. These are some of the women most impacted by the transgender issues, so that is quite important to note.

But the big point here is that while Trump polls negatively among women, they abandoned the Democrat Party in this election, giving Republicans a huge opportunity to swing future elections. This is why it is so critical for Trump to deliver during the first two years of this administration.
