Dems join GOP to defeat latest Trump impeachment effort

They say history always repeats itself, and as long as Donald Trump is president, sure as the sun will rise in the east and set in the west, Democrats will repeatedly try to impeach him.  

The latest effort, led by AOC and Rep. Green (D-TX), fell short, way short, with more Dems voting against the impeachment than for it.  

Blocked 

The moment Trump announced the strike against Iran, AOC likely started drafting her social media posts in support of impeaching Trump.  

Then Rep. Green decided to take yet another step, introducing his intent to impeach Trump.  

Speaker Johnson (R-LA) gave him his 15 seconds, putting a resolution on the floor to table the articles or let them pass through, and 128 Democrats joined the GOP in shutting down the impeachment effort.  

Green defended the effort, stating, "I did not come to Congress to be a bystander while a president abuses power and devolves American democracy into authoritarianism with himself as an authoritarian president.” 

Just a girl 

After AOC had called for Trump’s impeachment, Trump unleashed on her with a post that made a lot of valid points, but it was also filled with the usual childish insults that have made Trump’s social media accounts a must-follow.  

AOC responded to Trump’s claim that she was “stupid,” posting, "Mr. President, don’t take your anger out on me - I’m just a silly girl. 

"Take it out on whoever convinced you to betray the American people and our Constitution by illegally bombing Iran and dragging us into war.” 

Her claims that this was an impeachable offense are ludicrous, as former Biden and Obama officials even came forward to applaud Trump for the precision strike.  

He’s back 

Former Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has become Mr. Irrelevant after resigning his seat due to his embarrassing removal as Speaker of the House, but he just made a splash to go after AOC.  

He stated, "Those that even talk about impeachment, in history, they'll be laughed at.” 

McCarthy continued, "They just get a Trump syndrome. What President Trump is able to accomplish has reset the world stage, had made the world actually safer." 

It will not take the history books, as people are already mocking this effort, with Democrats breaking ranks to call out the impeachment. Even Democrat leadership blocked the impeachment effort, as anyone with even a minor grasp of the Constitution knows that Trump was well within his rights here.
