Dems Lose Big Case in PA on Invalid Mail-in Ballots

The good guys won a big case in Pennsylvania for election integrity, but I am just not sure how long it will stand.

The case centered around the counting of ballots that had the wrong date on them, which, by PA law, should be invalidated.

After losing the initial caste, the lower court ruling was overturned by the PA Supreme Court.

There’s a Reason

I know to some it may sound crazy, but there is a very good reason why all these restrictions are on the ballot.

From the signature to the date, voters are given very specific instructions on how to make their mail-in ballot valid, and this is because there is no in-person check to verify identity.

I used a mail-in ballot in Arkansas when I lived there just to check the process, and while it was time-consuming and required your attention, I got it.

And yes, my ballot was valid, which I found out after getting an email from the state that it had been received and validated.

If you recall, PA was a hotbed of controversy in the 2020 election, as new voting rules were just put into play without going through the legislature, as we saw in many states.

Rules, such as the original mail-in ballot rules, were changed on the fly, and Republicans have been trying to get this corrected ever since.

In this case, the Supreme Court ruled that the lower court "lacked subject matter jurisdiction to review the matter.”

So, for now, wrongly dated ballots will not count, but I doubt this will be the end of the matter.

I fully expect it to go before the Supreme Court, but this is an issue that should remain at the state level.

With Justice Alito currently overseeing Pennsylvania requests, I believe the request will be denied.
