Dems resort to filibustering Trump nominees
The truce, if there ever was one, is now officially over.
Democrats are literally pulling all night sessions to slow down the nominations of key Trump administration officials, and it is starting to get ugly.
Patel Delayed
I watched a large portion of the Kash Patel hearings and quite frankly, I was disappointed in Kash Patel. His resume says he is qualified for the job, but he would never have been my choice to head the agency, and it is the attacks Democrats are now levying against him as to why.
Patel has said some very questionable things in the past, and now they are all coming up again, and quite frankly, his answers on these subjects were quite weak, and his outrage over their questions was clearly a bad acting job.
Democrats have already requested a second hearing for Patel, and they are going to keep blocking his nomination as long as they possibly can. And this is not just a Democrat issue, as there are a handful of Republicans who have yet to express their support for him. I can think of at least three that will probably be a “no” vote, which means he cannot lose another vote.
If there is going to be a nominee that fails, I think it will be Patel. Based on the temperature right now, I would also say Kennedy and McMahon are going to be very tight votes.
The Graveyard Shift
As part of this protest against Trump’s nominees, Democrats held the Senate floor hostage overnight, giving filibustering speeches to block the nominees from moving forward.
Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) confirmed Dems would be holding this up for as long as possible, stating, “We’re going to be speaking all night. We want Americans, every hour, whether it’s 8 p.m. or 3 a.m., to hear how bad Russell Vought is and the danger he poses to them in their daily lives.”
For example, with the vote for Office of Management and Budget on the floor, Democrats spoke through the night. They are fuming over Russell Vought because he was an architect of the controversial Project 2025.
Vought eventually passed with a 53-47 vote, right along party lines.
Blow This Place Up
While Democrats and the media have been very critical of Trump and other Republicans speaking at the Stop the Steal rally, they held a similar rally of their own, talking about the need to “blow this place up.”
Now imagine the outrage if the GOP held a rally and said something along those lines.
When you add the outrage over the shuttering of USAID, Democrats have become completely unhinged.
As I have stated in other reports, the one question Americans need to be asking right now is why Democrats are not asking questions about the clear waste and possible fraud. I would also say that members of Congress on both sides need to answer how that money was approved by Congress in the first place.
