Dems reverting to failed over-the-top attacks against Trump
Donald Trump has only been in office for a little more than 100 days, and Democrats have already taken the bait.
They, and the media, for that matter, are already pitching the same Chicken Little attacks against Trump that failed them in the 2024 election cycle.
Dangerous Dictator
One of the most popular attacks for Democrats against Trump is that he is going to turn the United States into a dictatorship, as if he could possibly do that.
Well, a new survey by Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) put that exact question to voters, asking them if they believed that Trump "is a dangerous dictator whose power should be limited before he destroys American democracy.”
Just imagine the outrage there would be if Fox News had published a poll asking voters if Barack Obama was a radical Muslim or some other statement.
This is the media working with Democrats to undermine this administration, and it is getting completely out of hand.
Trump is Hitler
Democrat strategist James Carville was recently on Fox News with Will Cain, comparing Trump to Adolf Hitler, again, to get people riled up against him.
Carville stated, “Ed Martin, who Trump has appointed U.S. attorney in Washington, D.C., has a long history of entertaining people with, shall we say, rather right-wing views. Trump, according to his wife in a deposition, kept a copy of ‘Mein Kampf’ on his night table.
“Trump has said that he admires Hitler’s — the generals that Hitler had. He wished he had more generals like Hitler does. He sides with authoritarian countries, okay? Do you have to wait until he becomes Hitler?”
Will Cain shut him down, stating, “I think the vast majority of that is hyperventilating, it is half-truths reported from media.”
The Boomerang Effect
This has also leaked into the Democrat Party again, using all the usual attacks against Trump, such as Governor Whitmer, who just had a great meeting with Trump at the White House, completely reversing course, stating that she believes we are in a constitutional crisis with Trump in office.
During a recent appearance, former Vice President Al Gore stated, “I understand very well why it is wrong to compare Adolf Hitler’s Third Reich to any other movement. It was uniquely evil, full stop. I get it. But there are important lessons from the history of that emergent evil.”
“Seinfeld” creator Larry David, who recently wrote, “Here I was, prepared to meet Hitler, the one I’d seen and heard — the public Hitler. But this private Hitler was a completely different animal. And oddly enough, this one seemed more authentic, like this was the real Hitler. The whole thing had my head spinning.” Bill Maher, who had recently met with Trump, responded, “I think the minute you play the Hitler card, you’ve lost the argument.”
One GOP strategist responded, “It’s so overdone at this point that I’m not sure it holds weight very much. It’s a pretty lazy effort to just stir the anger instead of actually getting to the root of whatever your complaint is.” He hit the nail on the head… the party is lazy and unoriginal, so they keep going to the same well, probably hoping someone else will take the cue to start rioting, or worse, take another shot at Trump.
