Dems Score Win in Mail-in Votes Case

We are seeing legal battles all over the country in battleground states that were initiated by the GOP or the Trump campaign.

The RNC has made a massive effort toward election integrity, especially where mail-in ballots are concerned.

This is an area ripe for fraud or illegal ballots, but Democrats just won a huge battle regarding ballots the RNC would like to see disqualified.

Doesn’t Matter

If you have never done a mail-in ballot, it is quite the process.

I did one in the 2020 election just to see what the process was. There are several measures in place to ensure the ballot is legal, from including copies of your ID, to dating the envelope, to where signatures are supposed to be placed to ensure the ballot is considered valid.

These are all done for a purpose, but the courts in Pennsylvania appear to care little about these procedures.

On Friday, a state court decided that the requirement of handwritten dates on mail-in ballots would no longer be enforced.

Judge Ellen Ceisler penned the majority decision, stating, “The refusal to count undated or incorrectly dated but timely mail ballots submitted by otherwise eligible voters because of meaningless and inconsequential paperwork errors violates the fundamental right to vote.”

If that is the case, then why is that rule included in the mail-in balloting program?

We have seen this time and again where courts are overriding laws or rules that are in place to help Democrats make it easier to count what would otherwise be considered an invalid ballot.

Judge Patricia McCullough held the lone dissenting vote, and stated, “I must wonder whether walking into a polling place, signing your name, licking an envelope, or going to the mailbox can now withstand the majority's newly minted standard.”

Republicans have already stated that they would appeal the decision, as was expected.
