Dept. of Interior Shuts Down Alaskan Fossil Fuel Lands

Joe Biden has done it again…

Reports broke over the weekend that the Department of the Interior had locked down areas of Alaska for mining as well as oil and gas production.

This is going to have a major impact on our energy supplies, not to mention the devastating impact it will have on Alaska’s economy.

Time to Push Back

Rick Whitbeck, Alaska state director for Power The Future, stated the size of the land that is now off limits is as big as the state of Pennsylvania.

He stated, “Today’s double-whammy attack on Alaska’s resource development opportunities makes 65 times the Biden administration has targeted our state’s energy and economic future.

“This administration has completely kowtowed to radical environmentalists in an effort to gain favor at the ballot box.

“Placing 28 million acres off-limits to responsible development is foolhardy, and only empowers China, Russia and other enemies of our Republic.”

Biden has also blocked a 211-mile gravel road that Trump approved. This road would have provided a transportation route for the mining districts in west-central Alaska.

These projects had bipartisan support in Congress, so both Democrats and Republicans are pushing back against this.

The Alaska delegation stated, “Rejecting the AAP, or approving it in a non-viable manner, would cost us those benefits, prolong our deep dependence on foreign minerals, and magnify the vulnerabilities and atrocities associated with it.”

Whitbeck poured a little more gasoline on this, claiming that this is just another example of Biden’s blatant overreach.

Senator Murkowski (R-AK) added, “The administration here has effectively reduced Alaska to nothing more than a debit card to pay off national environmental groups in an election year…We’re sanctioning Alaska while we’re boosting foreign resources.

“And you don’t pay attention, you overlook the pollution, the human rights abuses, the regimes that it enables, from Russia to Iran."

This is just another reason to vote for Trump, who would immediately implement measures to get America back to being energy-independent.
