DeSantis Vows to Lead Trump Deportation Plan

Donald Trump’s incoming border czar, Tom Homan, has been getting plenty of press over Trump’s deportation plan.

While Democrats are Trump-proofing their states, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is ready to lead the way.

Quick Question…

Before I get into the meat of this, something needs to be addressed: the elephant in the room, so to speak.

During the Trump and Biden presidencies, immigration has gone before the Supreme Court more times than I can count. In every decision, the court has made it quite clear that immigration is a federal issue.

So, I am trying to figure out how it is even remotely possible that cities are allowed to declare themselves sanctuary cities and blatantly ignore federal immigration laws without being held accountable.

Why are sanctuary cities themselves not being challenged? And will Trump try to challenge them after taking office again? For me, this would be the very first question I would ask him in an interview on this subject.

Homan Outlines Trump’s Plan

Tom Homan was Trump’s Acting Ice boss and a former Border Patrol agent, so he is more than qualified for this position.

More importantly, Homan and Trump are very much on the same page here, and Homan is a no-nonsense person, blatantly telling the media that people will be deported starting on day one of this administration.

Giving everyone an idea of what will happen early in this process, he stated, “President Trump has made it clear we will prioritize public safety threats and national security threats first and that’s what the focus would be.

“There’s thousands of gang members, illegal alien gang members we’re going to be looking for. Now, I’m going to say if you’re in the country illegally, you shouldn’t feel comfortable, absolutely not. I won’t feel comfortable.”

DeSantis is On Board

Governor Ron DeSantis has every intention of doing whatever he can to help Trump. He stated, “Today, I called for a special session of the Florida legislature the week of January 27 to prepare Florida to lead on the Trump Administration’s deportation program.”

He continued, “We have no time to waste. Florida must lead. While we are in special session, we should also address key issues facing our state: ballot initiative integrity, disaster relief, and condominium regulations.”

I cannot say enough how much I support this program, but I also want people to be realistic about what is going to happen and how the media is going to portray this. For instance, the media has already put a price tag of $88 billion to deport one million migrants, but they won’t tell you how much we are saving over the course of their lives if we deport them now.

They will also make this a human rights issue, but the fact of the matter is that everyone who crossed that border illegally broke the law, so they all should be deported, in my eyes. Just keep your expectations low because I doubt it will be possible to deport more than two to three million over the next four years. Also, don’t be surprised to see Trump offer amnesty to DACA recipients as a concession to Democrats to end the program.
