DHS debunks claims by LA Dodgers about ICE
A major league baseball team just decided to jump into the fire that is the resistance against Trump’s immigration plan.
After the LA Dodgers claimed they blocked an ICE raid, the Department of Homeland Security debunked the announcement.
DHS Placing Limits
Before we get into the Dodgers report, let’s take a quick step back to see what Noem has resorted to doing because of all the stunts taking place with Democrats right now.
Noem has announced a new policy on lawmakers visiting these facilities.
DHS announced, “ICE will not facilitate meetings with detainees in detention facilities without valid, signed privacy releases.
“If Members and/or Congressional staff would like to meet with a specific detainee or set of detainees, please provide names, alien registration numbers, and valid, signed privacy releases with your request.”
Are You Serious?
The outrage among Democrats was as expected, with Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) leading the charge.
He stated, “Kristi Noem’s new policy to block congressional oversight of ICE facilities is not only unprecedented, it is an affront to the Constitution and federal law.
“Noem is now not only attempting to restrict when members can visit, but completely blocking access to Ice field offices – even if members schedule visits in advance.”
My response would be that if you are going to behave like children and use these visits as publicity stunts, you will be treated like children.
The Dodgers
That now leads us to a claim made by the LA Dodgers about an alleged ICE raid at the park, with the team claiming on its official X account that ICE agents were at the parking lot, but they were denied entry to the grounds.
DHS quickly responded, “This had nothing to do with the Dodgers. CBP vehicles were in the stadium parking lot very briefly, unrelated to any operation or enforcement.”
This was the Dodgers caving to local community leaders who wanted the team to take a public stance against the raids, so they worded the post to make it sound like a raid was going to take place, and they blocked it.
Believe me, if ICE were going to raid the ballpark, it would not need permission from officials to enter the grounds. It is all theater, my friends, nothing more.
