Even liberal media says Dems ‘decimated’ after Trump address
Donald Trump’s joint session address to the nation was something.
It was filed with protests, big claims by Trump, and a rallying cry that America will be great again, and even the liberal media cannot get over how damaging Tuesday night was to the Democrat Party.
Dreaming Big
Trump, as I have stated many times, overpromised during the election, but he can hopefully buy himself some time with some of his other accomplishments.
He has issued a slew of executive orders to deliver, but most of them are being challenged in court, which is why I don’t like executive orders. However, in this case, it may buy Trump some time because he can say he did what voters asked him to do, but the Dems stopped him again.
During the address, Trump really got people excited, as post-speech polling showed a majority of Americans approved of the speech.
The speech was filled with hope, contrary to the narrative that Democrats are pushing, and I think the telltale moment for the speech was when Democrats refused to applaud for D.J. Daniel, a young cancer survivor who was made an honorary Secret Service Agent.
Signs Not Landing
Dems had a plan to disrupt the speech, but that was pretty much derailed after Rep. Al Green (D-TX) was removed from the chamber. So, Dems decided to go quiet, using ridiculous paddle signs to protest.
When they thought Trump was lying, they held up a “False” sign, or when Musk was mentioned, they held up a “Musk Steals” sign. You get the idea here… it was childish at best, and it was simply not working, as noted by the former Democrat staffer turned MSNBC talking head, Symone Sanders.
Sanders stated, “Why are democrats just sitting there? The signs are not landing. It is giving bingo! Sigh. B42. B42…BINGO. They are not taking back the house with these visuals.”
Sanders wanted them to disrupt the speech more, saying that is what would be shown on the news, but now all anyone would see were Trump’s lies being unchecked.
Tapper Says Dems ‘Demoralized’ and ‘In Disarray’
The most scathing rebuke I heard from the media about the Democrats during the speech came from CNN’s Jake Tapper, who did not pull any punches.
Tapper stated, "The Democrats, not to be cliché about it, but they are in disarray. They do not know how to be the opposition force.” He continued, "They're having a hard time trying to figure out how to deal with Trump, and they're having a hard time figuring out who they should put forward.”
Tapper later added, "I have to say, you can really sense Republicans with a pep in their step and Democrats rather demoralized. I mean, understandably so, given the fact that Republicans control the House, the Senate and the White House, not to mention a conservative lean on the U.S. Supreme Court. But beyond that, even when the Republicans are out of power, you sense an energy quite often when Democrats are controlling things."
The reason for this is that Dems have no real leadership right now. Pelosi had them centered, but now that she is gone, it is up to Schumer and Jeffries, and neither of them seem to know what they are doing. In fact, I have seen numerous reports that the rank and file are furious with leadership for not having a better plan of action. As much trouble as I think the GOP could be in for the 2026 election, I think Democrats are saving us because of this turmoil. For sure, it is giving Trump more time to get this economy in line, and he appears to need every inch of that leash with the tariff war that is currently taking place.
