Fake News Narrative Blows Up During Swearing During Senate Ceremony

I have to admit, when I first saw these reports on X, I had no intention of giving them the time of day, but when they started to catch steam, I felt obliged to set the record straight.  

I am speaking of the story that Senator Deb Fischer’s (R-NE) husband snubbed Harris at the swearing-in ceremony.  

What They Say Happened 

While Senator Fischer was brought up to be sworn into office by Kamala Harris, her husband, Bruce, was brought up to hold the Bible.  

The original video that was shown cut the feed off above Bruce’s hands, and that is key in all of this.  

After the swearing-in ceremony was over, Harris reached out to shake Bruce’s hand, but he did not shake it, which drew cries of racism and everything else.  

For instance, MSNBC contributor Brian Tyler Cohen claimed, “The husband of a Republican senator just refused to shake hands or make eye contact with Vice President Harris. The level of class you can expect from MAGA.” 

What Really Happened 

What really took place is that Bruce had one hand on the Bible, and another on a cane to support himself.  

When Harris reached out her right hand, Bruce’s right hand was holding his cane, so he could not shake her hand.  

Not only that but he appeared to be struggling a bit to keep his balance on the stage...

Yet, Harris never came out to defend him, and the attacks by other Democrats and the media just continued to pile on.  

No Class 

Harris should have come forward to debunk the lie, but let’s be realistic here... she thrives on misinformation.  

For instance, Harris has pressed the issue that she believes Trump will start arresting journalists and his political opponents as soon as he takes office.

She has also claimed that Project 2025 is the blueprint for the Trump administration, and that could not be further from the truth. 

There are just two of the lies, with Harris having told at least a dozen of them during her DNC speech. The fact she is now hanging Senator Fischer and her husband out to dry is just a complete and utter disgrace.
