FBI Director announces another major drug bust

Director Patel has been on quite the roll, and he just announced yet another major bust by the FBI.

This one took place in Atlanta, with the FBI seizing roughly $9 million in drugs as well as dozens of firearms.

Big arrest

Patel has been doing an exceptional job on making these busts, so it was no surprise to see him partnering with the DEA in Georgia to conduct another massive operation that resulted in millions of dollars of drugs being wiped off the streets.

Patel stated, "I’m proud of the outstanding work by our agents and grateful for the strong partnership of the DEA in this joint effort.

"This was a major takedown – dozens of weapons, large quantities of fentanyl and meth, and key members of a sophisticated drug network taken off the streets.

“Together, we’ve dealt a serious blow to those profiting off addiction and reaffirmed our unwavering commitment to protecting American communities."

Child sex offenders case

This week’s announcement comes only a few weeks after Patel had taken down a massive child sex abuser network in May.

Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi announced on May 7, 2025, that the FBI had arrested more than 200 child sex offenders nationwide as the result of Operation Restore.

This was a massive undertaking that coordinated the efforts of 55 FBI field offices over the course of five days.

The operation also included efforts by the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS) in the Department’s Criminal Division, and United States Attorney’s Offices.

Another major drug bust

In April, Patel and Bondi had announced another bust in a joint operation with the U.S. Coast Guard that netted 45,000 pounds of cocaine, with a value of over $500 million.

Bondi, at the time, stated, "We have saved thousands and thousands of lives as a result of this incredible cooperation. We believe two cartels, CJNG and Sinaloa, were heavily tied to these shipments."

Patel added, "We are going to dismantle the 'next-man-up' theory that has been breeding in these Mexican cartels for generations. No more."

Again, I admitted I was not overly thrilled when Patel was nominated by Trump to lead the FBI, but I think he has done an exceptional job to this point, and I love the fact he stayed out of the direct fire between Musk and Trump during their little feud. I believe, thus far, Patel has done an exceptional job and I hope he continues to do so without falling into the trap of politicizing the FBI.
